Just want to let everyone know that I am still a non-smoker and
now I am trying to get rid of the 30 pounds I have Gained.
I know I will never smoke again but this has been so difficult
for me. It made me realize that since I was smoking since
I was 16, it was a part of me. So I am trying to be a different
person now. This has made me realize so much about myself
and the smoking habit. But I am so proud of myself now
and most of the time feel really good about this except when
I am in my I don't give a ____ mood, then it is hard and I still
have to go to bed.
Theres just one more interesting thing. I quit in November of 05.
I am 54 years old and never have tried quitting before but it
bothered me all the time because I smoked. I had a late baby at
42, so I still have a 12 year old at home and was always so worried
that I would not get to raise her. Well I finally quit, (I could
not have done it without this site) gained all kind of weight,
ate constantly but that really didn't help but it was something
to do anyway. Now 6 months later, I look terrible, feel terrible,
and decided I needed to do something about my weight. So I am
on the South Beach diet and the first 14 days are very strict;
no sugar or carbs at all and I was a big time snacker on anything
and everything. Well, anyway, I am on my 9th day and this is
so hard and I want a piece of candy or cake or pie so bad that
I haven't been thinking about cigs at all. I never realized
how screwed up I was as far as an addictive personality. I'll post
back in about a month or so and let everyone know how I am doing.
I know there are people out there like me, in their fifties and
been smoking forever. I have a very rebellious personality
from growing up in the sixties. Smoking was a part of that
rebel in me, I know. Anyway. I am rambling on so hang in
there everyone.
and excerising every day.
