MorningGlory, try to not concentrate on how long or when ... that is what nicodemon wants you to concentrate on. Think of concentratinging instead on exactly what Cyberduke said:
I don't care how long it takes. It'll take whatever time it takes. One day I will not even think about a smoke. That day is still a ways away. No problem. I get closer to it every second now. I am winning and intend to keep doing so.
Feel the difference? What we tell ourselves does help. You can do this ... you can ... look at you ... you have over a 100 days. Hi, I still have good days and bad days. I just would like someone to let me know when the desire goes away. Or does this mean I am one of the unlucky ones who will have to fight this the rest of my life. I am just afraid that one day I will have a really stressfull day and fall off the wagon. This scares me when I see or meet people who have quit and have gone back after years of a quit. I dont get it, I could see it may take a while but when do these cravings end. Everyone says I should be proud of myself and I dont really feel it.I feel disgusted with the weight gain, I feel sad sometimes like Im missing out on something. I just wish someone could tell me when the desires pass. Or am I just one of those unlucky ones. I have a sister who quit a few months before me and she has no desires or even thinks about it. She is a lucky one. Thanks for listening. It'll be Thursday, June 22, 2006 at about 6:30 pm I think...... Seriously - I have the same thoughts some times - here I am over 100 days in and I'm still working at it. YUP - That's the way it is. I took 29 years to get to the point I was at. I'd be pretty much fooling myself if I though 100 days was going to erase 29 years. That ain't gonna happen I'm afraid. Some people walk away from it and never seem to crave, others need to work at it. I fall into the need to work at it category. So... I WILL! You know what? I don't care if I still get craves at a year - the nicodemon cannot have back what I've taken from it. SCREW IT! This quit is mine and nothing is gonna take it away, not a trigger, not a crave, not my own lack of will power - NOTHING. MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE! I don't care how long it takes. It'll take whatever time it takes. One day I will not even think about a smoke. That day is still a ways away. No problem. I get closer to it every second now. I am winning and intend to keep doing so. Good luck in dealing with it. I know you can. Phillip and Morning Glory, here I go preaching again. Oftentimes, quitting smoking and the 4,000 chemicals that we also quit at the same time leads to brain chemistry changes that in turn can lead to depression. Only because I did it myself, I highly recommend at least a few sessions of talking therapy with someone who is familiar with addiction withdrawal. morning, This desire is different for everyone. If you continue thinking about it, it will consume you. Go about your day and occupy yourself. Start to enjoy your life and know that you have done this and you should be proud! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
