Hi alexa - Glad you are around - stay close... I know I was harder on your than some others - there was a reason, dear one... I just didn't want to see you lose your Quit. And so today is a new day - and your Quit will be a new day too. Let the old go - allow it to leave wisdom with you, but no sense in beating yourself up about it - that's not loving. Blessings coming your way - Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 127 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,461 Amount Saved: $590.55 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 12 Mins: 42 Seconds: 40

Hi alexa - Thanks for checking in - I'm glad you're still here:) We will be here when you're ready, dear one. And maybe, when you come back, we can talk about why you are taking those puffs (smile) OK? I am sending blessings to you - have a wonderful time overseas. Hi alexa - Beating yourself up won't help... It sounds like waiting so long for a new quit date is giving yourself permission to keep smoking, but as Penitent has said, it's your quit you really do manage it... There really are quitters who have a successful Quit the first time around, maybe not many, but I am one of them, so it can be done. And you can have a successful quit too. When you want to quit more than you want to smoke, you can do it!! Please do some deep soul searching, and when you are ready we will be here... Alexa, don't beat yourself up about this. You actually have gone 108 days (over 15 weeks) and only smoked 2 or 3 cigarettes, that does not sound like someone who is a complete failure to me. Yes it is disappointing to say the least but the most important thing is to learn from this so that you will be stronger next time around. Enjoy your tome over here in Europe and it is not mandatory to smoke you know! If you do feel the need to smoke until September at least cut it down to the absolute minimum. Hi Alexa Stop beating yourself up. You have done a great job. Let this be a lesson for you. That ole nicodemon was just hanging around for the right opportunity to creep back into your head but he doesn't have to stay there!!! I know how stress can beat us down...especially when it comes to family. I started smoking again after the death of my son. All I know is that I wanted the pain and hurt to go away and that ole nicodemon tried to tell me that he would help. The reality is that not any cigarette in the world would replace that emptiness. The pain and hurt will always be there...but I chose to go forward. I decided to get back here and get some help and support......and I'm sooooo glad I did. Smoking does not change any situation...it can only add to it by making our health more compromised. I will feel pain and despair again....I will be angry and upset.....there will be more losses. We all have to deal with our stressful times in our own ways. I know now that I can get through these times will the help and guidance of friends and family.......and I can do it without smoking. Do all the coping techniques you know how to do. Remember how far you have come and be proud of that. Dont let that go!!!!! Hang in there. You Can Do It. Alexa, The only thing harder than coming back from a slip is coming back from a relapse. Don't do this to yourself!!! It was one cigarette!!! Why give yourself an excuse to smoke?!?! You can quit if you want to, but ONLY if you want to. No, I don't think you can quit because your son gives you an ultimatum, but it sounds like you do want this quit for you... so hold on to it! A slip doesn't have to be the end of the world! Crave the Quit! First of all, don't hate yourself. I quit for a year one time and went back to smoking. I wasn't having craves...I was just ignorant about having just one. Don't think of yourself as a failure either. Think of yourself as a person who made it 108 days! Your quit will be successful when you are confident and YOU are ready. Good luck! Hi Alexa, Firstly, I am sorry that you smoked. It seems like your mind is made up and 15th September it is. It is clear to me that you are determined to be smokefree eventually and there is nothing wrong with your timescale. It's your quit; you own it and you manage it. Good luck with your preparation for September and come back stronger when you are ready and who knows, in time, you may be comfortable enough to bring that date forward. Best Wishes Penitent d770
