Niks, one day at a time, you'll see when you come back, in the meantime enjoy your well deserved vacation, and think of this :I went to Cyprus because I quit smoking, and you'll have the beautiful memories of your vacation as a non-smoker, and you can enjoy many more in the future because you're smoke-free and healthy. Enjoy :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 67 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,019 Amount Saved: $268 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 23 Mins: 9 Seconds: 18

Ok so the time is finally here. Well almost. Next weekend, I finally fly out to North Cyprus. This has always been a huge motivator for me to quit smoking. And a massive reward. I kept telling myself that if i stuck at it, then I could have a 2 week holiday at the end of August. I thought (back then) that by then I would have been quit for long enough to never want to smoke again. I dont want to smoke most of the time well pretty much all of the time. BUt I am worried - when I come back from Cyprus what is going to be my No1 motivator? When I look at my reasons for quitting - and I look at my rewards system, a lot of it revolves around going to Cyprus end of Aug. When I come back - am i going to have to watch out, as I no longer have that motivator? I have looked for similar threads but couldnt find one. What do you think? Niks, Sorry, but listen to yourself. Or rather, that voice in your head! I will apply your logic to my experience: Feb-April 1st 3 months of my quit. Money saved approx 600-700 My 'rewards' consisted of several visits to the local garden centre, stocking up my garden with beautiful plants and emptying my wallet. As I only have a small garden, by early May it was full! No more room! So Niks, what did I do? Did I say to Mrs Ed, 'Hmm I have a problem here. The garden is full of plants and I can no longer reward myself. While you're at the shops, can you get me a couple of packs of Silk Cut, because it's pointless carrying on without a reward' OR .. did I think 'Well that's the garden looking beautiful, now what else did I want.. a digital camera, new coat, extra holiday, new car, new handbag for Mrs Ed (she only has 29 of these), etc, etc, etc...?? Niks, by my reckoning, you will save over 2,500 a year by not smoking. While you sit on that Cypriot beach, make a list of all the rewards you would like. And if you can't think of anything, send the money to me. Your reward will be making a Quit buddy very happy Mr Ed ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 188 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,646 Amount Saved: 1410 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 9 Mins: 7 Seconds: 12

niks, Why not prepare a new motivator? This reward is grand and you have been looking forward to this for a long time! Take the time to make another reward for yourself, perhaps something different, or something else you have always wanted. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
