I'm lovin' that credo. Now I'm going to check out the tv again. Thanks, Livadia, you've made me chuckle. Thanks for the support everyone. What matters most right now is my quit and how I handle it. I can definitely get through this, when I feel down, I just take a little more pampering time, and when I feel good, well, that's the time for me to do things. And Phillip - thanks for the great post. Great difference between the two sisters - one really wants this and it shows with her positive reinforcement and coping techniques. And the other well...I can't see the quit lasting. Really great post, makes a lot of sense. Cheers all, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 170 Amount Saved: $45 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 54 Seconds: 28

It baffles me. Last night I felt sooo good, and not bad this morning either. Now its afternoon and all I want to do is lay on the couch sleeping and watching tv. I have laundry to put away and I don't even want to look at it!!! This all came on so fast. I feel as though I should be doing more than I am but right now I'm feeling a little down and all I want is comfort....no housework!!!! I feel lazy but down deep I know I shouldn't. I want to feel bright and sparkling...not down and blue. However...this too, shall pass. Please let it be quick. Yep, I know where you're coming from, Jan. Being a bit down or downright depressed is part of the territory it seems. Some people have suggested trying Wellbutrin -- it's supposed to help with mild depression. Personally, I just find cutting myself some slack for a while and riding it out is a reward I sometimes need. It's amazing how many loads of laundry, dishes, and other "exciting" tasks haven't got done during the past couple of months. Just remember this credo: "Dull women have immaculate homes!" :eg: Best, Livadia My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,812 Amount Saved: $450 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 13 Mins: 47 Seconds: 14

You got to switch up the routine. Before quitting I was the immaculate housekeeper (never DULL, mind you!)and LOVED to cook. Right now my floors need to be vacuumed, the furniture is dusty, laundry is piling up and there is something sticky on the floor in front of the fridge. It has been so long since I cooked that the occassional feild mice have stopped frequenting our house (word has gotten out, I am afraid!). Everyone is old enough to reach the cupboards and I can yell instructions on use of the microwave from my keyboard. I keep the paperplate and styrofoam cup companies in business just so I don't have to do dishes (trash piles up, but that is HUBBY'S job. HAHA!) I used to get sooo upset if everything wasn't perfect, in place and clean. THANK GOD FOR MY WELLBUTRIN!!!! Jan, just rest. What matters is you!!! If your tired, your body needs the rest. It is healing, so let it. Look at you - five days. At five days I had those demons screaming in my head all day. Rest and relax. The laundry isn't going any where. Ask for help and if that doesn't help - just rest :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 86 Amount Saved: $24 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 40 Seconds: 39

Jan, You or your family will not get sick and be hospitalized if the laundry, dishes or floors are not done! Ask for help! Take the you time you need and have someone else help out a little. It is important to reward yourself and to have some relax time. The quit does a number on your body and you need to prepare for this :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
