I am now cigarette free for about 6 days but I use the commit lozenge. They really seem to help but what happens when I am off of them and I still have strong cravings. I don't know if I will be able to get through it. Should I give them up and just try it without anything or keep using them. I'm using an NRT inhaler and NRT lozenges (2 mg). I cut the lozenge into 4 small pieces, and use 1 piece when needed (when the craving and/or irritation becomes unbearable!). In the last few days, I used 1 small piece of the lozenge after dinner, and it helped to calm me down ... I uses Comit lozenges for the first few weeks. Then I thought great now I will be addicted to those. But slowly I broke them in half, then cut the half in half, now I do not use them at all. They started to taste yucky to me and I just stopped them. Do what ever you have to the first few weeks or month...just do not smoke!!!! Miagi, You've received some great advice from your fellow quitters. I can only echo them. Do whatever it takes to keep your quit now. Once you're more secure, you can work on slowly eliminating the lozenges. Stay strong. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi miagi and a warm welcome... Do what works for YOU and right now, it sounds like the lozenges are working for you - so use them for now! You CAN do this w/out them - one step at a time, though! I Quit cold turkey, w/nothing, and had no slips, so IT CAN BE DONE... Take that fact in, and know that there are gentle, and easier Quits... each of us is different...so hang in there, and allow YOUR Quit to be yours... Stay in the moment right now, take the lozenges if that supports you and see what the label says (I have no experience w/them) and also -know that your doc can also help, if you need extra support... You are doing great! It helped me immensely to go back and read old posts here - I built an amazing and powerful toolbox of coping skills that kept me Quit and focused... So take the time to do that, and just hold on tight... Post often and stay close to this site... There is support here! Love and Light!
