Thanks everybody! Casey (and all the support staff) thanks for all you do! NSA Girl, thanks for the support. I'm glad you could too could come back from being unsuccessful in previous quits. It's not easy, but we're proving that it IS possible. Lady, after reading your post, it reminded me of that time and so I went back and read those 2 threads from 6 months ago. WOW! It's amazing how much different my quit is from then. Thanks for always being there to help kee me on track. Pitstop, I'm glad I could help you. I hope that this time is different for you too. Rekud, thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad you're here getting support... yes, this is a GREAT place for support... I couldn't have done it without this place. Shevie, thank you so much for all of the help that you've given me since I first quit. Luna, thank you so much. You too are very articulate and are great at conveying your messages so passionately and freely. Thank you for that! Cuddles, I'm so glad you're here doing this for the LAST time! Cheryl, thank you for welcoming me to the villas! I'll be there shortly. ;) Penquin, I may not live in your head or your home, but I HAVE lived in your shoes before and I know exactly what you're going through. Just hang tough... this quitting thing IS possible... even after several relapses. I hope that you too can finally grasp the freedom that is waiting for you! I really want you to experience the freedom that comes with not having a single cigarette for 6 months! You can! And I really hope that you will. Crave the Quit! Pam, You are doing so well on your journey. I am pleased to see that you didn't let those false starts stop you from getting on with it. Sorry you have to cut out on the beach, but you can still visit. And the Villas are waiting for you. Great post, Pam. I've often wondered how re-quitting after a bad slip or full relapse compared to the original. The spoiled child analogy is a very good one; our addicted brains are very much like spoiled children who are being denied their desires. Congratulations on 6 months smoke-free, Pam. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 339 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,788 Amount Saved: $1288.2 Life Gained: Days: 63 Hrs: 6 Mins: 46 Seconds: 3

OK, So have you been living in my head and my house for the last month or what, because you sure hit the nail on the head. It is soooo hard to get back on the quitting horse, but now that I am back on it, I am never getting off. I know that if I were to slip again, I probably would not try quitting again for a very long time, if at all. So whenever that Junkie is telling you to smoke with the (you can quit again behind it), don't you believe it. It may not be true, in fact it is a big fat lie. Kick that Junkie to the Curb with a BIG BROOM!!!! Thanks for a very insightful post PAM. Really appreciated. I can show my quit meter now, because it has a 1 on it!!!! Pam, What an excellent post! Kudos to you for making this your forever quit. Congrats again for 6 months of freedom. I do believe the butterfly has escaped the cocoon and will fly free from here on.
