LOL Dunedad...just close your eyes when you board the ship!!! Phil will understand!!! Just don't bump into him! We are going to make it Dunedad. I really am believing I'm a non-smoker more and more each day. Once your off the patches re-evaluate and remind yourself of the reasons you are quitting. Keep them close to you. It is important that we protect our quits at all costs. Dunedad, There really isn't any more I can say that hasn't already been said. I feel similar to you...I want to be off the patch...but I don't want to let it go (I step down next week to 14mg). I've taken the long road, but that's ok with me. Honestly, I'm scared to death...I'm scared of failing. We are 5 weeks quit now, and that's amazing, I don't want anything to stop us now. I want to board the cruise ship at 50 days and reach the beach at 100. I want to see Phil in a speedo (woohoo). You will know what's best for you, whatever you have to do to stay smoke free. You cannot make the wrong decision when it's right for you! That is so funny Dunedad. That is just what I was doing last week - forgetting my patch, wondering if I was sabotaging. It's listed under some thread post here. And you're just a little ways ahead of me in THE QUIT. I really started to crack up. I thought I could just do without at this late date but I slapped on my patch when I saw how bad off I was. It's only a matter of time. It makes me nervous in anticipation of when the patch dries up pretty soon. What do you mean by "I believe it is "fish or cut bait time" (does that mean a do-er or a watch-er be?)for me, and just by that very statement I feel I am being reckless with my quit (somehow this means you're being cocky?). Only a couple of weeks ago you were going on publicly about "..And there it was in my lap". I might mention in which you t/a "not yet". Moqeen posted on 12/10 "Finally I'm off all sources of nicotine" (by accident and got some responses). It is worthy to note that in doing a search, we are still hoping top hear from Moqueen after that post. (Moqueen, I hope you're OK). "Billy, don't be a hero" . This is no time to play games. Take the pansy route - walk the bases. Go slow. Do it right. Most of all, don't get cocky. I can't say this enough after my 11 year quit. We are never strong enough until we are humble enough. Good for you Kevin! I too don't take any BS from anyone anymore as well since my quit. When you finish off with the patches are you going to have a reward/celebration in place for that special day? Sure hope so :) You're doing absolutely awesome with your quit.. so proud of YOU! Hey Kevin, I think you are right in your decision to complete the program with the patches. You said yourself that your are an impatience person, so maybe you are/were being a little cocky and you can never put your quit at risk. Gotta keep up your guard at all costs.. even when you have finished the patch program I would ,,and will do exactly what Phil suggested regarding the gum. I will always have the 2 mg gum on hand just in case of an emergency... You are doing such a wonderful and awesome job with your quit.. Guard it and protect it always hon... and please be patient :) (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 866 Amount Saved: $387 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 17 Mins: 24 Seconds: 16

Wow... when's the patch coming off, Dunedude? What a HUGE event!! I kept some nicotine gum handy when I went off the patch, but only broke it out once or twice. Be sure and tell us when you do it, okay?? I'm right there with the Queen of Guilt -- I'm stoked for you about shedding the patch, but I also respect your insisting that everyone has to do what is right for them. If that means more props, great! If it means stepping out on your own -- it's no better or worse. (Okay, easier, cheaper, less trouble, cleaner... but other than that...) (Did you get those nasty black glue lines? Dude, I couldn't get those off with bleach and an electric sander!! Almost had to call Heloise for a hint!) peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,517 Amount Saved: $275 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 19 Mins: 34 Seconds: 10

Dunedude, my friend, I answered this from work much earlier today, but I guess my work computer is still having "issues." No one knows you better than you do; no one knows your capabilities and limitations better than you. You've come so far, Kevin -- trust your progress and what you've learned. Trust yourself to know what's right; God knows I trust you, bud. pete My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,246 Amount Saved: $242 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 20 Mins: 39 Seconds: 19

Today I forgot to slap the patch before I left for work, I didn't realise until I found myself very irritable at work. I chilled out once I realised why I was soooo pissed off. I have also been off of wellbutrin for a few days...I ran out over the weekend. I got a refill today on my script, but I was planning on going off the patch next tuesday. Now that I have gone a day without nicotine I figure I am 1/3 the way from complete nicotine freedom. Why would I want to complete this day again next tuesday? Please tell me I am not sabotaging my quit, I have done everything BUT the recomended course of the patch ( I am always on the lookout for corporate greed...don't get me started!!) I do have the desire to stay quit, (and here it is)...but...I have my doubts. I feel the quitter in me really wants to show myself "Look you have quit ..you got no nictotine!!" Whilest the nico junkie is saying "yeah...go ahead...go a few days without me, you strong enough?". I beleive it is "fish or cut bait" time for me, and just by that very statement I feel I am being reckless with my quit. I am an impatient person by nature....when I wanted a smoke, yup I wanted it now!! I want my quit without cravings and I want it now!! I didn't plan for these circumstances.....but maybe the circumstances are planned for me :quest: What do you guys think?
