Yes, I'm back and ready to fight this fight. Yesterday (1st day) was rough! But, I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. I'm going to fight this kicking and screaming if I have to. Thanks for your replies. I've been putting off quitting for a few months now and my husband and I have been talking alot about buying a house and such...the only way we can (or will) do that is if we don't smoke anymore. I know how easy it can be to quit and how easy it is to stay quit. What I didn't count on was that one thing that makes you blow it. Each person has their "one thing" and it's up to each of us to steer clear of it and know how to handle our quit when it does. I didn't...hence the reason I am "back" as opposed to celebrating a 1-year quit! Janet

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I'm back again after realizing that if not for my stupid, idiotic, "slip", I'd be at one year quit tomorrow! Do you know how absolutely frustrating that is? I had over 100 + days under my belt when I "slipped", and of course I justified it with an excuse (the reason isn't really important). Anyway, both my husband and I are determined to quit and stay quit for good! I plan to be here as much as possible during hell week. Once I get past that, the rest of it goes pretty smoothly. I have all my tools in place and have gone since 10:00 last night with no cigarettes...so far I've not killed (or even injured) anyone or anything...so far so good! So...tick tock...the clock goes on and on...I wait patiently for the next 7 days to be over with. For me, those were the worst...after those are over, I feel SO much better! My mood seems to be ok so far...a little testy at my coworker (but this person just grates on my last nerve to begin with; so that doesn't help) but I'm working on it. I'm doing my deep breathing, sucking on a straw that's the size and shape of a cig and drinking lots of water. Thanks for being here and I welcome any and all comments! Janet

Janet ! Glad you came back and giving it another try. You should be proud now that you didn't give up on giving up. Consider that slip a practice run and you are ready for the real thing this time. Come here often as I have met some wonderful people here who helped me through a major crave over this weekend and I have over 200 days. So good to see you back Janet. It's as easy as one breath, step, hour, day, week, month, etc. at a time. You can do it too - don't EVER doubt that - you are STRONG, even when you don't feel it - KNOW that.
