reasons not to smoke

for 17 år siden 0 3307 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thanks for all your reasons. I now can add them to my journal. A dear dear friend has encouraged me to keep one and I am not real good at staying with it  So thanks. The reason just keep coming. The dream I had the other night also keep playing in my mind. I dreamed I wanted to smoke and someone here told me to come up three good reason to smoke and she would join me. So far no good reason and a lot of reasons to stay quit. Thanks everyone, keep the quit. Heheheheheheh - Gonna...I have absolutely NO idea why you keep getting deleted!! I'd say why not go for it and have a good old bra burning party.... (Actually...when I lost those extra pounds, I know where I lost most of the inches so I won't be missing much anyway) Hubby offered to buy me a new pair....so I had to swat him real hard..That burned extra calories too... Oh yeah...reasons not to smoke (I just bought extra toothpaste and mouthwash so i could get extra air miles and I don't want to waste my money by stinking up my fresh breath) Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 236 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,739 Amount Saved: $1180 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 1 Mins: 58 Seconds: 48

I like your #1 reason, Windy! In addition to all that are already listed: ~My taste buds work now! ~my 'smeller' works better also! ~I don't have to interupt whatever it is I am doing to 'feed' my monster. ~I don't have to limit myself to places where smokers are welcome---I can go ANYWHERE! ~It is one less worry----"Do I have enough smokes to last until I get into town in the morning?" Freedom. Kinda like taking off that bra as soon as you get in the house at the end of the day..............ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 239 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,992 Amount Saved: $1912 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 9 Mins: 29 Seconds: 3

Hey Sparky - Great post....Hmmmm....Reasons not to smoke: 1. I want control over my life (no more planning around cigarettes) 2. I want to stay healthy and get healthier 3. I don't want to be embarrassed or ashamed anymore 4. I want to celebrate with all my great friends from Scc Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 236 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,736 Amount Saved: $1180 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 1 Mins: 34 Seconds: 46

Hey all Another big reason is your saving money - 3 x $13.60 per week was getting a bit rich, when you were just burning it. All of the reasons already given are the one's I would have mentioned.. But one MORE reason for me to be a non smoker is to be the very FIRST person in my family - mother, father, sister, my brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents etc etc etc to NOT SMOKE. And just for the record I only have 6 living relatives still alive.. My mom, my sister, my brother-in-law, 1 neice, 1 nephew and one aunt. (my neice and nephew are still very young - 10 and 13 and they don't smoke...hope they never do!) Sparky, Sounds like you are really plugging along. Almost through with that first week too - great job. All I can say is that the monkey is off my back and has left the building! I am so grateful to have my life and my health back and to have my eyes wide open. My skin has color! My fingernails only have the color that I apply to them! My car does not have ash spewn all around! I'm not contributing to all the nasty butts all over the city! I'm not contributing to the tobacco company fat cats! I'm more me than I've been since I picked up my first cigarette! Woo Hoo! Hi Sparky! I also had a dream last night...I dreamed there was a reunion of quitters from this site...in Philadelphia! (Don't ask me why). You were there, and I also saw Luna, Shevie, N2K, Duffis, Judy Penguin, Cheermom, and a lot of the newer quitters. We were all having a wonderful time sitting around a hotel lobby bar. There were some I didn't recognize, but we were all united in our victory over smoking. In any case, back to your question :p, these reasons to quit are from my quit journal: I dont want my clothes to smell anymore. I dont want my breath to smell anymore. I dont like feeling like a social pariah. I dont like getting up in the middle of a meeting to have a smoke. I dont like feeling embarrassed that my car smells like cigarettes. I dont like burn marks on my floors, furniture, clothes. I dont like the feeling that Ive left a cigarette burning somewhere. I dont like always needing to make sure I have cigarettes with me or that I have a lighter. I dont like ashes on my black clothes!!! Of course, these were all after reason number 1 - my health. Thanks, Sparky -- it's always good to bring those out and take another look! Congratulations on 5 days!
