Dreams while taking Chantix?

litte J's mom - that story about dreaming about Lincoln sure gave me a good laugh! Reminds me of that commercial for some sleep aid where the guy with insomnia is sitting at the table with Abe and others, obviously in a dream. Hey, maybe you saw that commercial before bed? Someone needs to do a study linking Chantix dreams to presidents and the white house! Because, LOL, what the heck? I had *this* dream in the beginning of my Chantix using: We (my husband and I and some others) had to battle these hallographic historical figures -- like abe lincoln and george washington -- as they came to life. All, mind you, while I had to keep running up all these old stairs (think internal firestairs in an old office building) to this upstairs office to work on our very complex taxes, by hand (no turbo tax!). What the heck?! I'm fairly certain I have NEVER dreamed about Abe Lincoln in my life, but there he was! Almost a week off of Chantix now (will be a week tomorrow) and have been having more regular dreams (currently just stressful ones that tie too directly to stressful things coming up in real life). Ah well, those Chantix dreams were great while they lasted! Love all your replies! I can't remember what I was wearing in that Bill Clinton dream, but I'm sure it wasn't a blue dress. LOL And, that Woodstock story was hilarious. It's nice to see so many senses of humor on here. I would call it free entertainment, exactly. Last night I had a really nice dream about my grandmother who has passed. We shared some time together before I woke up. Well I'm gonna try to quit tomorrow. I can already feel my tenseness building. I hate to say it this way, but it's as if I am preparing to never see my "best friend" ever again. It's an abusive and dysfunctional relationship with cigarettes because even though they are bad for me they have been there for me when I needed them. After every argument, sleepless nights, and good times I have had cigarettes to lean on. During my divorce when I couldn't keep any food down they were there to keep me going. I know I am a true nicotine addict, but it's time to quit. I want to live longer. And, I have watched my mother go from a strong healthy woman who smoked to an oxygen dependent, emphysema, copd, asthmatic at 65 years old. She is home bound and is also legally blind due to macular degeneration that can also be caused from smoking. She smoked about 4 packs a day until a year and a half ago when she got put in the hospital for not being able to breathe. She was in there 4 days and when she came out she had to have home oxygen 24 hours a day. She quit smoking, but only after it was impossible to breathe. Now her lungs are failing and I'm so sad for her. That's the reality of cigarettes. It's a gamble she was willing to take and when she started smoking the doctors were even pushing women to smoke to lose weight! Ugh! Well I'll go for now, what a novelle I just wrote. Thanks for your support, friends!

Ya know what...I stoped taking chantix...the last dose I took was on Friday evening...and I still had dreams on last night...I guess I will see if I get them tonight...(Sunday) I'm curious to see how long Chantix will stay in my system now that I have stopped taking it... :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 108 Amount Saved: $22.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 28 Seconds: 43

Hey all, Chantix dreams are said to be a side effect...I call them free entertainment. I also had a presidential dream...with the first Mrs. Bush showing me around the white house. (would rather have had the Bill Clinton dream...send it my way when you are done with it). Sweet dreams to all! Actually, I think the dreams are a result of nicotine withdrawal instead of Chantix, because I had them with patches and Chantix both. I am kinda curious....you didn't have on a blue dress when you were talking with Bill Clinton, were you? That might explain Hilary taking the doors off of the hinges...... I had a dream once of meeting with Nixon and then being in a hotel room with some plumbers namde Liddy and Hunt.....? I dunno....that dream may have been the result of something I did in New York at Woodstock...... I sometimes get confused! I'll tell ya - I didn't have the dreams when I first started the Chantix, but now I sometimes do. Don't remember all of it, but there have been some wierd ones. Some involve trying to find cigarettes and sneak a smoke, some have nothing to do with it. One really wild thing ... One night I was sort of in that in-between state, coming off a dream and starting to wake up. With my eyes still closed I was seeing really wild colors and patterns - it was like I was looking through a kaleidescope! I didn't want to get up, it was so cool and I didn't want it to end! - Freemom My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 369 Amount Saved: $122.4 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 20 Mins: 14 Seconds: 31

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Okay, I have to share this with you and than am asking for any other cute stories. I have been on Chantix now for 5 days. I am, like the package said, having vivid dreams. Not scary ones, but weird ones. For instance, Bill and Hillary Clinton came to visit me. Bill stayed in the living room talking to me while Hillary proceeded to take all of our doors of their hinges??? And, last night, I got kicked out of my church because they told me they didn't like the way I was acting during services??? LMBO These dreams are a hoot! Now, if I wasn't on Chantix I'd worry about me. (I'm a Psych/Social Work major in college) I went back to college after my kids got almost grown. I gotta hear some of your dreams...share with us!
