Tryagain, Maybe you could try the chantix, you should check with your doc, it might relieve the neck muscle thing, as it blocks the nicotine. That is when you are ready for another go. Don't feel so bad, it has happened to many before you and it will happen to others agin. We are human after all. Keep your chin up! Just come back when your ready to go! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 675 Amount Saved: $284.85 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 6 Mins: 16 Seconds: 10

And yet more good advise from Casey. :)
"Thanks for sharing this experience here with us. Don't be too hard on yourself. The important thing is that you are willing to get right back on track with your quit! Please remember that quitting is a long process, not a quick one! A person's brain and body organs undergo gradual change, from detoxing right through to forgetting you ever smoked, if such a thing is possible. Cravings are the brain's way of screaming at you for a fix. "I need a smoke to feel like my old self again." And, finding that old familiar comfort zone is the urge of addiction. As time passes, the cravings diminish in intensity and frequency, until the urge to give in is no longer a problem. That takes months for most people. The headstrong and determined ones seem to have less of a battle, though they too have temptations to overcome. There is no easy way. Having a puff or two awakens the addiction process in a person all over again. It may be insidious, like feeling "Well I got through that without too much trouble. I'm doing all right." Junkie talk is easy and who has not justified having just one? A day later, the urge is back again to have another puff or two, or three or four. By week's end, the person has relapsed if they gave into those small urges. The brain will keep sending out calls for a fix, simple as that. That scenario need not be everyone's. Be aware that dealing with addiction requires total abstinence from the addictive substance. Continue to prepare your quit and call a halt to slipping. A slip can merely mean a setback in your learning curve, not a total disaster, depending on how you deal with it. Look upon it not as a failure, but as a warning on how easy it is to get right back into smoking again. Continue to stay positive and start each day with a positive reward! Reward yourself somehow for every craving you overcome." -Casey, Support Specialist, SSC
Here My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 622 Amount Saved: $222 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 1 Mins: 22 Seco

Be careful - it did happen, and you *are starting over again. Smoking is smoking, my friend... Learn from what happened and be honest w/yourself, or this can happen again before you know it... Reread what you wrote - you have a very intense fantasy going on with nicotine... Be careful here. Tryagain Congrats on not smoking. You can do this. I know how hard it can be, I still have to remind myself each and every day that I am not a smoker. Sometimes those little pangs of craves just hit from nowhere and make you think oh, just one. But we are stronger than they are and we can beat this. So very proud of you not smoking again. Let us know if we can help in any way at all!! :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 741 Amount Saved: $145 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 22 Seconds: 7

Monica, You're not alone. I don't want to get into a discussion, I just want a post. Try, please, please just give us a post. We don't have to talk. Just post a smiley or something. It would help a lot of people rest better tonight, including Butterfly Swimmer I'm sure. One thing that we can safely say that we are in firm agreement about here on this post is that we care about you and want to know that you are ok. That's all for now. Then go back and take care of your personal matters and take the time you need. We'll be here for you. Audrey :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,473 Amount Saved: $204.4 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 3 Mins: 59 Seconds: 37
