Hello Sharon, I know you had a little slip yourself and you are up and back to also move on, move forward and most importantly to have learned something from that slip. We're going to do this and we WILL WIN ! Have a good day Sharon :) Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 907 Amount Saved: $369 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 2 Mins: 0 Seconds: 13

Jean You are a trojan woman - I am inspired by your strength. I slipped at the weekend too but it was over nothing really. If anything good comes out of slipping is that it helps you realise how precious your quit is and I think you see that. Be gentle to your heart and soul, give it all the love and care you'd give to your best friend if she were in your shoes. Take care Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 208 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,083 Amount Saved: 559.52 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 12 Mins: 33 Seconds: 26

Well I was up all night - No.. I DID NOT SMOKE ! I talked to myself .. outloud, all night long as I moved and rearranged furniture in almost every room. Hell, if I could I would have reversed everything in the washroom - toilet and all ! I am not moving from where I live because I love where I'm at BUT I cannot live with all my memories of someone who could so easily just up and leave me. All of this horribleness (is that a word?) happened on Sunday, now it's Thursday and I'm by no means 'ok'.. It's going to take a lot of healing time and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to heal from this blow and I've put some things into perspective as well. While rearranging my entire living space I thought of Monica and all that she goes through with her chronically ill husband. Her life is a constant stress situation and she's been coping so very well with her situation. I have drawn strength and inspiration from her so I've decided to go with her and her hubby to his rehab session. He is such a strong man because of HER. I am by no means minimizing what has happened to me but I know that my situation is going to get better, with time, pampering, being gentle on myself, getting out, keeping busy and KNOWING that SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION ! My relationship might be dead but I am NOT. Smoking will NOT bring back what I had, nor will it make it easier to get through. Yes, it threw me for a loop - Yes, I wigged out and went with a poor impulse but NO I am not going to dwell on that slip of 2 cig's and make every effort to move on for REAL ! So once again I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your caring support and advice. You've all been very empathetic towards my situation and I'm very grateful to have this site to come to.. my home away from home. Now I begin a new journey in my personal life and continue on with my smoke free life. Good Morning Jean49 I hope your feeling better today. It,s not a nice place to be when a relationship goes south I know because I,ve been their 3 times myself. I was devastated when I discovered that my first wife was having an affair.I don,t know why I was so shocked because I was also involved with another women.Talk about a dual set of standards it,s okay for me to fool around but how dare the mother of my 2 children sneak around behind my back ? Anyhow that one ended in divorce court and the women I was seeing at the time decided to go back to her husband a double whammy so to speak. Eventualy I met another gal and life was good again but life was very volatile for us,lots of drugs, alcohol and gambling.Eventualy we parted company I swear to God if we had stayed together one of us would be doing a prison term for murder. But I loved this women and when we split up I thought I was going to die. That was 30 years ago and son of a gun I,m still around to talk about it. The breakup of a relationship is a very tough time, having a smoke does,nt solve the problem but its understandable damn I,m sitting at the computer typing this having an anxiety attach just thinking about it.Anyhow Jean49 I have a feeling you,ll do just fine. Bear ;)

Jean, I give you allot of credit. Believe it or not.... it is an inspiration to some new ones to see your determination. No reason to throw the baby out with the bath water. As for the other......... I am so sorry. Sometimes we don't know right away why some things happen in life. AND... then down the road we see why things turned out one way or another. Hope tomorrow will be a better day. Your doing the right thing by watching a movie. It's a good escape...give your brain a deserved rest. mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 109 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,180 Amount Saved: $487.23 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 3 Mins: 16 Seconds: 20

Jean, it's no big deal unless you allow it to become a slippery slope. But if you've learned something from it that will help you as you continue on as a non-smoker... then it's worked for good. You're still here, you're still talking about the solution, and as far as I can tell... you're not smoking today. And however many days any of our stats show, there's only one that matters; today. If you're not smoking today, then you're doing as well as any of us. Jean, I just saw this thread. I am so very sorry that things are so tough right now. I was very happy to read in your post that you saw that smoking those few cigs didn't help or solve anything. Hang in there and take it all one day at a time, one hour at a time or even one second at a time. Whatever it takes to get through everything. Also know that we are all here for you, especially your fellow April Ashkickers. We are all here if you need us. Take good care of yourself, you deserve it! Jean, Some relationships are hard to give up. Look at the relationship you had with nicotine, and how hard that was to give up. Use your coping skills, and grieve for the relationship, but be grateful that it happened. People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime and everyone of them has a lesson for you. You may not know what it is right now, but it's there and will be there when you need it. Good luck Jean, and use us in any way we can help you.
