I ruined 73 hard earned days

Kayla, No words of wisdom, just wanted to give you a big cyberhug. Legend My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 558 Amount Saved: $116.25 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 11 Mins: 27 Seconds: 35

Hey Kayla, SO sorry I didn't see this earlier! The thing is, you wrote "If I give up the fight I will but for now I have to keep trying." What's this "if" business???? It sounds to me like you're allowing failing to be a possibility. I'm not saying anything about your choice to reset your meter or not... that's your decision and whatever you decide is the absolute best decision you can make because you're the only one that matters. But please change your thinking from "if I give up the fight" to "I'm not giving up no matter what!!!!" That mindset will help you when you get faced with tough triggers (like stress and teenagers and dead-beat exes) again. We're all here for you. Right now, you're in a vulnerable place... you've got a LOT of things on your plate and it would be REALLY easy to throw all of your hard-earned days away completely and start smoking again. But as you said, you KNOW that smoking will NOT help! So, make a plan and stick to it. Promise yourself "before I smoke, I must come to this site and post and wait for 10 responses." K? Promise? Crave the Quit! Kayla, Look where I've come from. I ruined a perfectly good 100 plus day quit. Pick yourself up and deal with one situation at a time. Don't try to take on the world, just one craving at a time. Hi Kayla, I remember being 14 (barely), and I remember both of my girls being 14. Those hormones kick in and an entirely different child is born! Stay sane if you can, and we're here when you need us. Kayla, I personally don't think you "ruined 73 hard earned days" because you had one cigarette. You had a minor slip not a relapse. You have worked hard at those 73 days and you own those days ! They will always belong to you so hold them close to your heart and move forward with the knowledge that you have learned from that slip. As been said before me - We're here for you, so please post and vent, yell, scream, throw dishes, cry - anything .. Just get back on track and keep that meter where it is as you've earned those precious days ! ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) of support ! Kayla I am so sad hearing what you are going through..been through something similar myself, in terms of the living situation. As for the smoking, it was just a slip...one you don't want to repeat apparently. Learn from it and move on, buddy. As for the other stuff: 1) unless the court has said differently, you can move wherever you want. I am pretty sure that the court would not rule that a 10 minute extra drive is unreasonable, 2) sounds like your daughter's father is angry and is using your daughter to punish you. You might want to let her know that it is not her responsibility to carry messages back and forth, and as the parent, as Carylene said, it is your responsibility to make financial decisions, not hers, and 3) don't expect her to understand or take care of you emotionally. As unhooked said, she is a teen and inherently self-centered. The understanding will come later. You might want to find a counselor or therapist for yourself so you have someone to talk with about all this crummy stuff. It is not a bad thing and will not look bad in court. You just say that you were trying to find some better ways to facilitate everybody getting along. That looks good..and IS good. If u ever want to talk on im, I would look forward to helping in any way I can In the meantime, N.O.P.E. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,720 Amount Saved: $462.40 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 11 Mins: 45 Seconds: 2
