There was a day when I felt better when I smoked and there are times when I miss it....but, honestly, although I hadn't yet developed the Smoker's hack - I hacked for a good 2 or 3 weeks after every cold (Not one cough this winter). Cigarettes used to relax me but, after years as an addict, they started to control me. I avoided social situations because I couldn't smoke. I became irritable when I was held up at the grocery store, had to work late or, for any other reason, was unable to smoke. I know that there are times when I am tempted but, for the most part, I think I am learning how to deal with stress better.
I admire everybody for being honest with themselves and, goodness knows, that noone can make that decision to quit for us. Just know that, if you decide that you want to quit again, there is a room full of support waiting for you.
