Thanks Michael for your response. I had panic way back when I was 22 was treated with xanax and psychotherapy for a few months and was fine for 17 years. In 2000 I just wasn't feeling good, not sleeping, achy, so Doc put me on zoloft 50mg which was great. Over the last year my stress increased, hormones changed, and I wasn't sleeping, then bango my Aunt died very suddenly. I again called my Doc, because at that point I was experiencing panic almost nightly so he suggested increasing the zoloft to 100mg which didn't help, but I probably didn't give it much of a chance either. So long story short me being an RN I took it upon myself to call my Doc and say "hey look...I want to use my 50 of zoloft and add .25 of xanax three times daily and go back to psychotherapy. Within a month I was 100% better, but I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia which would explain why I was not sleeping and aching. I had a consult with a psychiatrist also, who thought that a change would benefit me, but it's NOT. So that's my story! Tough to be an RN on top of it all, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing sometimes :|
