Tryagain, Perhaps delaying may be the way to go for you? It will take longer but may also give you the opportunity and time to practice new coping skills? Keep us posted. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

I couldn't do it. I failed miserably. I was off gum for a day and a half, then I had a craving so bad, I started fighting with my bather because she smokes and having cigs just that close to me drove me crazy. And I KNOW for a fact that I'm a non-smoker. I went and got more gum. I had to be ready to quit smoking. I'm going to have quit gum when I'm ready too. I'm just not ready. Hey guys well I decided to go ahead and stay off any smoking aids I think I was just having a real bad craving last night and the junkie inside me was thinking about nothing other then nicotine.... But I will continue to go cold turkey even though its the hardest way to go I feel like I can make it without any smoking aids now since I made it through last night without caving in. Thanks for the advice guys :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 85 Amount Saved: $24.44 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 22 Seconds: 6

bold I know that you are making progress now, simply because you ask such hard questions. I don't feel qualified to adivise you one way or the other on this one. If you where me I would know exactly what to say, but that is not the case. I can tell you this, though, we are addicts. That means that we use nicotine as a replacement for something yet unrealized in our lives. The key is to understand that and look with great intent inwardly to find the source and reasons for our desires. When we desire nicotine it is because we are either afraid of naming the actual thing we desire or we truly do not know what it is that we think we are missing in our lives. I know that sounds rather in the clouds to you, but at the end of the day it is true. Try not to be afraid of doing something good for yourself. I believe that there is an invisible river that carrys each and everyone of us along through all of our highs and lows. Some of us sense that, some of kind of know that and some of us swim in it every day. You know, it is fear that keeps us smoking, it is love that stops the addiction. Do not be afraid to love yourself enough to give yourself this precious gift... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 230 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,900 Amount Saved: $1,610.00 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 23 Mins: 43 Seconds: 11

Boldinaz, Rusty is right why would you want to put nicotine back in your body? There are other products that are available thru your Dr. that do not contain nicotine maybe you should look into that option. Check with your Dr. and remember N.O.P.E My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39 Amount Saved: $15.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 50 Seconds: 35

Bold, if you haven't put any nicotine into your body for 15 days...the nicotine has left and that's not what you are craving. Of course there may be other chemicals that you are withdrawing from. However, what would be the point of re-introducing the most addictive substance in the world? I would suggest that you look for other causes for your discomfort...of course this is only my opinion and others may think differently. And one more thought...you said "It's just too hard for me." That is all-out junkie thinking. If I could get through it after 40 years of smoking two packs a day, you can do it too. I believe in you! Hey guys I know i'm 15 days into my quit but latly I have been getting horrible cravings that keep me up real late at night and I really feel like that if I dont get some sort of support I wont make it cold turkey its just to hard for me :( Do you guys think it is ok since i'm still kind of early in my quit to use a quit smoking aid like commit lozenges i've read up on it and it sounds pretty promising and not to expensive, Also has anyone here tried the commit lozenges and if so how did it go? thanks My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $23.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 11 Seconds: 1
