Lady, I think when you go from low activity to a few miles your body is saying whoa I am not used to this.
Like everyone said start slow and build up.
When I started working out with my exercise ball and weights I could barely curl 3lbs, then I moved up to 4lbs, 6 pounds and now 8 pounds and I about reading to increase again.
I have been doing this at least 3 times a week, 30 minutes for a year, I have lost 20 pounds, but am way tighter and stronger.
It took me years to put on this weight, it won't come off overnight.
Good for you for starting!! I hate doing it but always feel great after I work out. ;p
