thanks for the encouragement , bear I just feel "out of whack" , restless. I get those, "wow, I want a cigarette" urges. My days off are Fri/Sat and I feel worse on my days off, it seems. When I am at work, I am distracted from the smoking thoughts. Oh, I hope it gets better soon. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,712 Amount Saved: $565.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 14 Mins: 50 Seconds: 20

Yep you,ll soon forget what it,s like to smoke and you,ll be surprised how soon that will happen there will still be triggers from time to time but you,ll put them out the door like an x roomie. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 179 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,222 Amount Saved: $1,790.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 23 Mins: 56 Seconds: 30

thanks all, I made plans to spend some time with my 7 year old grandson today. We are going to have a nice spaghetti dinner and go swimming..it is still hot as heck here in az. In a few more weeks, I will be able to take some nice speed walks around the neighborhood. Does this really go away...do you really get to the point where you don't think of smoking every gosh darn day? new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,688 Amount Saved: $560.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 12 Mins: 4 Seconds: 14

New me, Sorry to hear you're having a rough one! Please know that smoking is not the answer. Your roommate will move out and the stress you are feeling now will dissipate whether you smoke or not. In times like this, it's important for you to take time out of your day and channel the emotions and frustration you're feeling whether it be through a fun activity or some physical activity. Keep persevering! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

New Me I like your style.I,m sure there,s a lot stranger things to look at than a woman chewing on a straw. You are free from nicotine what your not free of is the thoughts of smoking and they too will fade into the sunset just like your old roomie and his smokes.Your doing just fine how about a nice reward for yourself. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 179 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,222 Amount Saved: $1,790.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 22 Mins: 56 Seconds: 22

Hang in, new me. The longer you go without nicotine, the less you will crave! Keep doing what you're doing, don't worry if you think you look a little strange. How would you like to be dragging an oxygen tank around with you? Don't forget the rewards, be good to yourself. You're doing a hard thing! so,it has been three weeks with no nrt. I definitely do NOT feel free from nicotine and smoking yet. I have had some craves, the "I can have just one" thoughts when i get around smokers. I get heartburn from the lifesavers and cherry cough drops that I suck on at work..now I am doing Tums to get rid of the heartburn. I look strange out in public, chewing on straws everywhere that I go. I had to kick my roommate out this week, so that was stressful. He is still in the process of moving..him and his cigs. I am really sick of this. Okay, I am done venting; I need to get on with this day. All these after effects are so much better than lung cancer. I will choose NOT to smoke. I just feel like S#@% today. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,688 Amount Saved: $560.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 11 Mins: 49 Seconds: 54

thanks for sharing with me penquin, Oh no, I know it is a big deal to drop a trigger. A big one that does not seem to even cross my mind anymore is the "driving home from work" cigarette. I still crave in the mornings..that is why I am here at scc almost every morning. Just reading makes me feel a little better and know that I can go on with my life, smoke free. I really had a crave this am..one of those, uh "start looking in my roommates ashtray outside for a long butt" crave. But, I can't do it. I can't start over again. It is my day off today and I am having that time distortion existence again. After I log out, I am going to make a list of errands, phone calls, cleaning, etc that need to be done and just live my life from that list for the next two days. I am in neutral emotionally; with that little nag still hanging around. I am glad that you are doing well after 4 weeks nic free. I do not think that I could do this unless i had people like you letting me know that it does get better as the weeks go by. Time will go by whether I smoke or not. I choose not to smoke..it cannot control us any longer. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 104 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,496 Amount Saved: $520.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 9 Mins: 24 Seconds: 20

New me Thought I would share with you how I feel being in my 4th week nicotine free. Everyday I say to myself WOW!!! I can't believe how quickly things have gotten better since I dropped the Nic. The triggers are dropping like flies. I'll go for a couple of hours and say "Hey!!!! I didn't think about smoking at such and such a time." I am pleased. And while that may not seem like such a big thing to some, it is to me...because it means I am on my way. I know there will be days where I may take a step back to like it was at the beginning...constant thoughts. But I know that is part of the process and I accept. You are doing great. Everyday it will get a little bit better. BELIEVE IT!!!!!
