They say that it takes 20 days to start a new habit. Tomorrow my stats will read 20 days as a non-smoker. What a great habit to have! When I wake up I won't reach for a cigarette, I won't have one with my morning tea, I won't have one while I read the news, I won't have one while I chat with friends, I won't have one.... well you get the picture.
It only took 20 days, but with the support of my kids, my family, friends, and you great folks here at the SSC I've started new habits of:
Breathing deeply
Saving money
Smelling pretty odours
Walking without becoming out of breath
Not looking for the nearest exit in public places so that I can go for a smoke
Cooking different foods and actually tasting them
and many more new habits that I have now that I'm rid of that icky habit of smoking.
I have many more habits that I can start over the next few years... this nico-demon will never get hold of me again.
