WOW, I am soo glad I read this. I too have tremors or sometimes feel like my body has electrical currents running through it, especially in my head, neck, and hands. This comforts me a great deal because I thought I was developing MS or something like that. I have been to my doctors a few times already this year with of course a clean bill of health.. Sanju- I just wanted to let you know that the numbness or tingling in your hands, face, ect. are completely normal. I have had that and still do when I have a really bad panic attack. Its called parathesis(sp) and is very very common in people with anixety disorder. ITs basically when the nerves in those areas, be it your lips, fingers, toes, ect. "freeze up"- It cant hurt you and usually goes away within a few minutes. Mine would get so bad I couldnt talk and my fingers would make a claw. I thought at the time I was having a stroke! The thing to do is get your mind off of it as best as you can and go for a walk, even if its in place or around your home, this helps get the blood moving and your mind off of it. This would happen to me a lot in the car so I would pull over and walk around a bit. Of course I went to the ER many times and they explained it to me. Its usually brought on through hyperventilation as well. Hope that helps you, there are soo many books on anxiety that can help you out as well and they talk about this symptom. Take care and good luck:) Anyway hope all of you are having a great day:)

Wow, this was a huge help for me to read. I have been having tremor like symptoms also. I hadn't looked anything up about them yet thankfully. The onset of them coincide with the panic coming back and the other physical problems I am dealing with right now. Glad to know it's not just me.

I'm with you Sky. Three hurricanes has been really hard on my mental state. I've had about 4-5 panic attacks since the first storm. I had a few weeks of near normalcy in between and then the second hurricane. Then I was doing good again and then came Jeanne. I had 2 panic attacks at the end of last week. I have been recuperating the last 2 days. Then just about 10 minutes ago I was in the bath and I heard a sorta loud noise and got scared and was jolted a little. It shook me a bit and I took a valium just to be cautious. From what you wrote, anxiety can cause a few things. With me it causes Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is contrllable. I have had tremours, but not so bad in the last few years. I would ly in bed sometimes and feel like my body was buzzing. Nervous energy. Sometimes it was hard to stop so I would get up and do something. I have a feeling it was prozac or triavil that was causing this. Best thing for tremours is to create your own. Just my experience. By this I mean exercise. I did 1 hour of cardio today. Hope I helped you a little. It helped me to tell about my recent problems. David

Hi Sky, Same thing here, I have randon shaking, tremors in all parts of my body especially arms and hands and legs. This happens when i have pushed myself too hard or after a panic attack. I too looked everything up on the internet and thought for sure it was MS...I actually had way worse panic due to this. A rheumatologist checked me out and said I'm fine in fact I have quicker reflex's than normal, conditions like MS, parkinsons and Lou gehrigs you would loose all reflex's. Usually people with anxiety have super high reflex's that's why we jump so easily at everything. Hope that helps...I too am working on not lookin up symptoms on the net.

Thanks so much for that reply Al!! You've eased my worry tremendously. Yes the internet can be a dangerous place for people in our position. I take comfort in finding out more about anything I'm paranoid about. However, the flipside is it can backfire and make things ten times worse for us. I've set myself boundaries like if a symptom hangs around for more than a couple weeks, I take notice and get it checked out. This seldom happens, surprise surprise. Golly, if panic had it's own way I'd be off to the doctors every day with something new. Kinda amusing really. Thanks again.

Hello sky well i used have the same tremors like you i went to see my family doctor and tolme that is the way our nerves respond to the Anxiety now you must be very carefully about the internet 'cause the internet is not a safe place( for anxiety people) to find out illnes and the end you will be more anxious.... a good example is when a had those small tremors i run to the net to find out and guess what?? i become more and more anxious because i was sure I was having parkinson symptoms!!!! see for us is not good find out in the internet if you have a real concern is better to see your family doctor, you are going to be ok. Hi everyone, I've been running on nervous energy all week cause I've been busy. It finally caught up with me a couple of days ago. I've had a couple of minor panic attacks over the past few days as a result of being run down. I knew this would probably happen so when it did I was prepared. What I wasn't prepared for were these tremors I've been experiencing. It's only in my fingers. Without warning a couple of fingers will start moving from side to side and I can't control or stop this from happening. It doesn't hurt but there is a tingling kinda tickly feeling in my fingers and hands. This tickly sensation feels like it's muscular. It's quite bizarre and I'm not sure what to think of the tremors. When it first happened some anxious, paranoid thoughts immediately told me it was Parkinsons or something. ergh stupid panic. So I look up these symptoms on the net and all I can find is information on Parkinsons, eek. I'm 23 and I've read Parkinsons mainly affects older people. Can all this be a symptom of anxiety, or even fatigue or should I be off to the doctors asap? I've had plenty of body tremors/shakes whilst having a panic attack. This feels different somehow. It's specific to my fingers and it happens without panic. I'm gonna give it a couple of days and if the tremors are still happening I'm off to the doctors. In the mean time has anyone else had hand tremors before? Can something like this occur as a result of anxiety and be felt as an after effect, even though you're not feeling anxious at the time?
