Congrats on not quitting quitting, sfd. We know that smoking can mask many health problems and also that we self-medicate with nicotine. So when we quit, symptoms often surface that either were not there before, we blamed on something else, or we just had a smoke & ignored.
I think you should see a doctor, sfd. Not to panic you, but it's a good idea to ensure your doctor knows what's going on with you. Tell her you've quit, or that you're planning to & relate the problems you've had with previous quits.
She should be able to help you find the best method to give you the best chance of quitting for good, order any tests that might be indicated by your history, and recommend any lifestyle changes to further improve that chance.
