Quitting is easier than going back to the oncologist every time you feel something different in your breast because you are so scared you have cancer again. Quitting is easier than .. waiting for xray results from a chest xray. Standing in the room outside waiting for them to tell me that I can go. I know they can't tell me what the results are but I wonder if there will be a look of pity on the womans face when she comes to tell me I can go... Easier than the ride home from the hospital in the car with my three children - 5, 6, 9 - in the back and knowing that I havbe to wait a week for the results, knowing that if they did come back positive it would be my fault. Thankfully they came back clear.. but I know that it is not always the case for most people. I felt so incredibly happy and sad when I got my results. Happy for myself and yet so very , very sad for people who don't get that 'all clear' message.
