Hi Penguin,
I really do "hang on" to that saying..one day closer to never having to feel this way again. Quitting smoking, for me, has been a very looooong journey. And, getting off the chantix was my last security blanket. I finally believe that I can really live without smoking. One of my big upsets was that I felt like I had nothing to look forward to..it was depressing. I am getting better. Looking forward to accomplishing normal tasks, going on a trip, updating my condo, etc. How sad that smoking was the activity that we looked forward to the most. Nicotine is so addicting; sickens our bodies, twists our minds, numbs our emotions. I certainly still have that "empty feeling", that "nag". Hopefully that will continue to get better day by day since I am off all forms of NRT and the chantix. Thanks for saying hello, penguin..we are both coming up on our 1 year! WOW!
