Wish I could QUIT job!!!

thanks guys. i know you are right. it's just that i work in sales and i have been taking time off b/c i have been sick and panicky so each day i take off my commission is lowered by 3% (whereas it is normally 15%)and i have to worry about my accounts being taken, etc. i do not have a college degree and i have found that advertising sales allows me to make a good $15-$21/hr if i work hard and get good sales and never less that $12/hr. here lately because of my time off i can tell my boss is frustrated with me - hence more anxiety and the urge to just throw in the towel, quit, run home and crawl in bed. i am also inside sales for a newspaper so i spend a great deal of time in front of a computer instead moving about. i also have a 6 yr old son who is in first grade and i long to be home with him after school and go on his field trips etc. my fiance is not his father and i cannot expect him to come into this situationa dn deal with my anxiety and then let me quit my job and stay home. i know i cannot do that, but i wish i could. thats all. i will try to keep my chin up and stick with it. thanks for thinking fo me and writing back!!!

Dear Cookie, TO WORK, OR NOT TO WORK..... Trust me, DONT quit your job if you can possibly HANG IN THERE for a while it will be better for you in the long run. I am speaking from experience. I quit my job a while back and it actually made me worse. See, I began to have anxiety because I had no money coming in and it was even worse for me. I also know for sure that keeping your mind occupied with things (such as work, etc.) is good for you. When I stayed home for a while I sat around all day thinking about all of my problems and feeling sorry for myself which will definately worsen your condition. Also I became agoraphobic after a while and never wanted to leave the house. I have another job now and i'm doing alot better. I was really scared at first but things are finally looking up for me. I still have attacks, but not as many as i was having when I sat in the house all day every day all alone. Do what you think is right for yourself. It may be different for you, but I just wanted to share my story. Good luck! My favorite saying is, "control this thing, dont let it control you!" Sammi

((((cookie))) I know how you feel, how much strength it takes to face it each and every day. Stay with the job. I made the mistake of leaving my job thinking I could "get it together" if I wasnt stressed from work, but it was a huge mistake. Keep going to therapy, working with self-help books, taking your meds, keep a journal and get support here. You can find your path to recovery faster if you stay occupied both mentally and physically. sending prayers

all i want to do is stay home and not have to go to work. i am getting to where every day that i am there i am exptremely anxious and feel ill. we need the money, though, and i feel bad expecting or depending on my boyfriend to take care of me. i dont want to be a burden or a baby.
