Panic Program?

Hi karie, i have to agree with vickers4, hang in there and carry on with the programme, ive just come to the exposure session, a lil scary lol but im willing to do the hard work. But i do have to say that since i started this course, im feeling soooo much better, my anxiety has cut down heaps, i used to wake up every morning, and within a hour or two id be anxious, now i dont! Carry on with the course! youll see the differance! Beccix x x P.s A little thing ive also done aswell is while i read through the sessions, i jot down some facts into a note book, and when i feel a little anxious, i read em! I haven yet done the anxious thoughts forms, i havent felt the need for them!

The Panic Program is basically designed to help you realize where your panic and anxiety is coming from and to teach you tools in how to deal with these issues. The best way to do that is by writing in your panic diary and anxious thoughts forms. Make sure you read each session because each session will not only tutor you in how to fill out the forms, but it will also give you information about this nightmare we live in to help you see how and why anxiety does what it does. But, the most important thing is to fill out those forms and to be completely and totally honest with yourself. Write down what you are feeling both physically and emotionally. You are doing this for yourself so be completely honest about what you write. You will see in time that there are patterns to the way your anxiety works and that there are ways to rearrange those patterns to help you cope and hopefully eliminate this problem. CBT is very effective! Keep with the program and use the tools as they are introduced. This is set up in a way that you are able to deal with this slowly. In the future sessions, there is more personal involvement than just the diary such as learning to challenge your thoughts, exposure work, setting goals for yourself and teaching yourself to reach those goals. Don't jump ahead - take your time. CBT is proven to be one of the most effective ways to beat this and that is what this program is teaching you. Stick with it and hang in there!

Hi! I've been doing the panic program for 2 weeks and all it seems I'm doing is updating my panic diary everyday for homework. Other than that, I'm not really getting any information. Am I supposed to be doing something else? Thanks! Karie
