Rock, thanks for letting me know I'd made this milestone! We do get to the point when smoking isn't even a passing thought except in very rare instances and I'd certainly not have noticed this one since I don't get here as often as I could. 900 days ago, I was only looking minutes or hours in advance and even reaching 30 days or the beach seemed like a million years away. Who'd have thought 900 days could fly past this quickly???
Ashley, my best strategy was to use and do anything and everything....whatever it took to not smoke! I prepared so heavily that most of the things I had dreamt up and ready were never used. I admit though, that in the early days I almost drove you poor mods crazy with my (in)appropriate posting at all hours and attempts at jokes and having fun. (I know it may be hard to believe, but it's true, you can have fun and still quit smoking).
You may also experience some or all of the following:
No matter what it takes, how you feel, or what you have to do to quit and stay quit, it's worth every bit of it. The freedom is simply amazing.
Thanks Jim.....look at your meter my friend.....Congrats right back at'cha for your 500 big ones!
Brenda, your 76 days are even more amazing because we usually have to work much harder earlier on in our quits. I think the ultimate milestone has to be not smoking that first cigarette....it's a doozie isn't it? Keep kicking ash...you're doing great.
Sfree, you're looking so wonderful with a perfect "10" on your stats!!!!!!!!!! I've shared all my secrets here at SSC and there's proof if you read back far enough ;) I will dig through the old posts and bump a couple with coping strategies for you but you're doing great already!
Pen, lol...I'm hanging on to your shirt tails but every time I turn a corner I can see I'm about a thousand days behind you
Marvi, you are such and awesome quitter and supporter!!! Me encanta Mexico! Y usted. Mantenga patadas ceniza.
So now I'm going out to walk the beach and the seawall to celebrate my 900 days. I've just recently lost most of my post smoking weight too, so I'll have a nice salad for dinner and then splurge with a single scoop double chocolate waffle ice cream cone on my way home!
Thanks again everyone.
Pat
