Rock-you said it perfectly!  I agree and know life is much better not smoking.  This situation would have been there whether I smoked or not and smoking just made it worse  So I know quitting when I did was the right decision. This whole situation actually has scared me enough to set it in my mind, I WILL NEVER SMOKE AGAIN< NOT EVEN A PUFF!  I dont want to go through anymore health related issues.  So hello healthy me, I think I will take a run today!

Sfree, isn't it great getting high fives from your doctor instead of lectures?  A medical scare was the kick in the butt that I needed to quit.  I can feel your stress from the medical tests and the unknown.  I went through that too.  Just remember that by not smoking, your body is healing.  Smoking can sometimes mask medical issues, so now that you are not smoking your body is adjusting.  Just follow the doctor's orders, remember that smoking won't fix anything, say N.O.P.E. each morning, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks Ron
Yes Sfree was for smoke free, my name is Calli so you can also call me that.  I did make it through today.  I still am very positive about not smoking and would not have smoked for the world today.  I actually like not smoking and after these health situations I realize now we are blessed with one body and we better take care of it.  I just had a hard day and needed to vent:)   It helps to talk about it so I dont keep it pent up, snap and slip up.  I am happy to be through today though and start facing these challenges with a new mind frame.  Thank you for the advice!

Sfree (is that as in smoke free?),
I think others have said it well that you should celebrate getting through this trigger.  I remember when I quit the economy was starting to sink and that was a big trigger for me also.  Not having enough money or worrying about it caused many feelings to want to smoke.  By getting through them it really strengthens your quit where you realize you can live through all of life's rough moments without the smoking. We all have to go through them and that is just the part of the quitting process. When I had those craves come up I would take a walk, and think of doing something fun for myself.  Also realize that although scary, your condition may not be as bad as you think.  Your doctor will figure it out, and quitting smoking is only going to help you in this situation.

Keep your head high, you are doing everything right!.

Dear Sfree,

Best of luck Sfree with your doctor. The very fact that you can get through this stressful situation without resorting to the nicotine monster is a cause for celebration. Get yourself a treat tonight you deserve it. Tomorrow is a new day and you will probably feel completely different. Well done. Be proud and stay proud.

sfree, you're doing great! I've had a number of scares these past few months, too, and all I can say is, Thank goodness I am not smoking. These scares are wake up calls. Smoking contributes to heart disease, cancer, lung problems. And if we continue to smoke, or start back, things will go downhill from there.

sfree,

You have made the wonderful choice to quit smoking, and you should be very proud to tell the world about this. You are always welcome to vent and release your emotions here. You are now in control from here on in. Continue to say NOPE!
