spm. We are sorry that you are unable to use our IM Messenger. Perhaps using another computer, work computer, friend's computer. This may help for the initial exchange of address' and then you may use your own personal IM. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

I just read over the user agreement again, it seems I wasn't allowed to post my address back there. Sorry about that. I'm using an operating system that the CBT buddies program doesn't work on, so I'm looking for suggestions on how to get information to people. Regds, spm.

Hey there Vickers4, thanks for the reply (on both threads). If you want the story I guess you could e-mail me. But anyway, after that Island journey I felt really good for over a week, everything seemed so simple.. then yesterday I had a mild panic attack with accociated vomiting and stuff. Not very pleasant. I think it's over now, but I'm having a hard time getting to sleep. Aww well, baby steps... It'll pass. I guess it might have something to do with me moving to the mainland after a week to start university.

Hooray! You should be so proud of yourself for not only going but for going during a storm that stranded you for two days!! Woo Hoo!!! You just proved to yourself that you are stronger than you feel. Always remember that when you are feeling like you are falling apart! You are stronger than you feel!! Thanks for not killing any puffins - or for at least not telling me if you did. ;p They are just so cute!

Well, I'm back, and I made it. We got stuck on the island for two extra days in extremely bad weather. The term 'gale force winds' doesn't really describe it accurately. I actually wrote (on paper) a travel log for the entire trip, and I'm planning on posting it online. I'll drop a message here on where to find it in case anybody is interested. BTW, I didn't kill any puffins. The weather really sucked, and I'm not sure I had it in me anyway.

I think it's fabulous you are going to make yourself go regardless of your fear! One thing I have learned from here is that the only way to beat this is by allowing your fear to be what it is and by not allowing yourself to escape from it. Remember that panic / anxiety is excrutiatingly uncomfortable but it will not kill you and you are in no real danger even though your alarms are screaming in your head. You can do this! Remind yourself when you are panicking that you can get through it and that you are in no real danger - over and over and over if you have to. You are stronger than you feel - I promise! Remember one thing also - do not expect too much out of yourself. If you have to limit yourself, it's ok. Don't beat yourself up over it. We all have limits and you cannot walk before learning to crawl. Also, enjoy the moment for what it is. Not for what you think it should be. Good luck and let us know how it goes!! On a personal (girlish) side note: I love puffins - don't kill them! :( Go have fun - but don't let me know if you kill any. ;p

Hello... I'd like to share something, in case it inspires others to levels of foolish bravery, or convinces them not to: I live on a volcanic island in an archipelagio. About two hours from now I'm going to go to a deserted island with a handful of people in the chain, to stay for three nights and hunt puffins during the day. The island is 161 meters high, and has steep 100 meter high cliffs all around it. There is no electricity on the island (we're taking batteries) and there's no fresh water (unless it rains)... but there's a hunting cabin there, and well, nobody has ever died there, as far as I know. I'm somewhat claustrophobic, suffer from extreme vertigo, and have constant fears of my health. To put it simply: I'm scared out of my mind right now. I'm shaking, my sight has gone blurry, my face is numb, my stomach is tight... I'm not going to back out though. I might at some point on my way over to the island, but right now I'm determined to follow this through and have a grand time. Wish me luck.. I'll try to remember to drop by whenever I get back, be it three hours from now or three days from now, and give a little report. This is my first post here... I just needed to say this to somebody who knows what this is going to feel like. :gasp:
