Hello... I'd like to share something, in case it inspires others to levels of foolish bravery, or convinces them not to:
I live on a volcanic island in an archipelagio. About two hours from now I'm going to go to a deserted island with a handful of people in the chain, to stay for three nights and hunt puffins during the day. The island is 161 meters high, and has steep 100 meter high cliffs all around it. There is no electricity on the island (we're taking batteries) and there's no fresh water (unless it rains)... but there's a hunting cabin there, and well, nobody has ever died there, as far as I know.
I'm somewhat claustrophobic, suffer from extreme vertigo, and have constant fears of my health. To put it simply: I'm scared out of my mind right now. I'm shaking, my sight has gone blurry, my face is numb, my stomach is tight...
I'm not going to back out though. I might at some point on my way over to the island, but right now I'm determined to follow this through and have a grand time. Wish me luck.. I'll try to remember to drop by whenever I get back, be it three hours from now or three days from now, and give a little report.
This is my first post here... I just needed to say this to somebody who knows what this is going to feel like. :gasp:
