Telling people about my anxiety was very difficult to do at first but I found each time I did it it became just a little bit easier. But before I could tell others about it I had to learn identify anxiety in myself. I have learned (and it takes time so be patient with yourself)to recognise anxiety in myself. The program here is really good for getting you to see patterns in your anxiety where you didn't know there was a pattern.

Hi CMD. That strikes me too...the fact that poeple see us in a certain way and are even jealous of our success, but on the inside we are suffering. I just really want to see myself in a positive way like everyone else does. But i cannot seem to have faith in myself. This anxiety has really reduced my self-esteem/confidence. Also, you mentioned that you learend to tell people when u have anxiety. I dont' know why but i find this hard to do. My boyfriend always tells me to TELL him if i feel anxious. But I feel like it just makes me worse if i tell him. I start to feel more nervous if he knows. Its wierd....i usually have to tell him after i have calmed down. Does anyone else have trouble telling others?

I didn't think you sounded stuck up. What the next poster said struck home with me - everyone sees us as these successful people and yet we are suffering. Sometimes I felt like I was two different people - the person others thought I was, and then the person I really was. I have learned to tell people around me when I am feeling anxious. It has supplied my friends and I with some good laughs (after the fact).

We are all in the same boat. I tought at the beginning, it cannot happen to me. I am too strong, too balanced, too altogether. I am "superwomen." Well, panic attacks do not care.

Thank you for the advice angel I really appreciate it. I cannot stand this problem. I wish I could figure out what is causing it ya know? I keep waking up expecting to feel better with a positive outlook and then all my symptoms hit me and I feel like bad again. I hope it will stop soon.

Hi angry T! I experience the same things as you. When i read it, i related to you right away. First off, the changing sypmptoms.....yup that happens to me....there is always something new! And second of all, the blurry vision where you are convinced you will pass out.....YUP again that happens to me almost everyday. We are all here for you. And we can get through this. We just have to convince ourselves that this is just anxiety and we can control it. So dont' worry, you do not have any health problem....its anxiety. Hope u get better soon !

Thank you butch and CMD for responding. I did not mean to make myself sound so stuck up CMD, I guess my biggest problem is me. I appreciate the information butch and I think you are right. I cannot get myself to believe that I have anxiety problems. These physical symptoms seem to come out of nowhere. After each medical test I have I tell myself that if this comes back normal I will accept the diagnosis of anxiety and move on. You, know what? This never happens. If I could just accept my faults and not spend my free time trying to figure out what causes my symptoms, I would be alot better off. Thank you for the responses and I will continue with the CBT online (great opportunity). It helps to know that I am not alone or going insane.

hi, you sound a lot like me, it is hard for me to do the sessions right or to think i am doing them right because i can't putany certain thig down that really bothers me. the program is great and it helped a lot but now that i am into the exposure work i, i don't know what to do because there is not a person that bothers me , i am not affraid of anything that i know of. ( dogs, heights, crowds, tight places. etc. etc.) i also come from a loving family and have a lot of friends and support. excuse my spelling please. i talk well but spell poorly sometimes. ha. i am my own worst enemy. it is all in my what if way of thinking. i lived with a lot of people looking up to me all my life, saying you can do anything , you can fix anything, you always know just what to say. you keep your head and you don't panic when your needed for anything. well i think you are the same way. in my mind they have built me up way bigger or greater than i am. i guess i cover up my fears and thoughts. i think it is all in my negitive what if thinking. it is sort of a thing wher i have to save face. some one told me about a book the is called , how to cope with or how to live with being average and said it worked wonders for them. i think people like us do this to ourselfs. i think it is our sub con. and con. mind fighting against each other. i have a tape and i don't know where i got it but it is a sort of self hypnosis tape that you listen to at bed time for a week and you end up falling asleep on it everytime and after a week you listen to it at bed time and two times through out the day, setting up in a chair. an it get conscious and sub conscious mind on the same page. it has helped me a lot. i could be wrong but i think when we can't find a problem with anything or anyone else we have to be doing this to ourselves. the tape says master series relaxation and it has the name barrie konicov on it. potentials unlimited, inc. 4025 broadmoor se.po box 891. grand rapids. mi 49518. subliminal persuasion. i don't know if you ever heard of th Landmark education program or not. but it will help you a lot. i think everyone should go through it. it is a three day program where you are in a room with about 30 other people and an instructor and five or six helpers. it covers your whole

Hello. In my experience there are many people who are successful and appear to have it all who suffer from anxiety disorder. Speaking for my self I have two undergraduate degrees. I have what I would call a very good marriage which is approaching 17 years. I have a close supportive family. I am the type of person who is good in a crisis. But 7 years ago I started to experience symptoms of panic and anxiety. I too tried to find physiological reasons for what I was experiencing. My breakthrough was when I went to my doctor and said "I need help". Until that point I had been hiding my anxiety from everyone except my husband. For myself I needed medication and it worked wonders for me. I joined this forum because one day I would like to get off the meds if I can. If you have any questions about what you are going through don't hesitate to ask.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for joining our support group. You will find that we having many supportive members who may help you understand why you are feeling the way you are these days? Here at The Panic Center we have a free program that may be helpful to you at this time. The Panic Program is not talk therapy. Its not about medications either. Its a treatment program thats all about getting you actively involved in your own improvement. How great is that? It teaches you things you may not understand about panic and agoraphobia, your own panic, your own panic cycle, and as you learn and get involved, you begin the journey and the process of taking back control from a fear that at the moment is controlling you. Doesn't that idea of getting back control sound wonderful? So its not about talking. Its about doing. And in doing, its about recovery. But maybe this idea of doing scares you and you avoid it for that reason. Ive had emails from people who say this too. Well its not about someone telling you to smarten up or just get with it at all. Its a guide, a silent teacher, and a whole program. Its like going to a school that offers a course in your very own fears and how to beat your very own fears down. How would you feel on graduation day if you could do just that? It works this way: The Program guides you through the process of getting back this control. It prepares you for this, one single step at a time, and gives you some homework to bring you along from session 1 to session 2, and onward, in a series of 12 sessions over a period of twelve weeks. Many people want help for their panic and cant afford therapy. Don't pass up this opportunity. If you have any questions or concerns with our programs or tools, feel free to contact us within this support group or in our feedback section at the bottom of this page. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon. Melanie ________________________________ The Panic Center Support Team
