I agree with you fixing! If your doctor is just brushing you off and assumes its just the anxiety talking, go see another doctor. Its hard enough that we have to deal with the anxiety ourselves.......so we don't need a doctor to assume that we are just complaining. That makes me so upset. Try another doctor that will take you more seriously!!!! Also, when you mention your symptoms, try not to say "well, it could be just the anxiety." Let them decide that. Because i noticed that once they hear that, they just asssume it is only anxiety. Hope i helped!! :)

If you feel like your doctors are not taking you seriously it's time to see a different doctor! I've seen 4 different doctors in the last 7 years and 3 of them were very concerned and very helpful. If you live in Ontario go to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario website lists all practising physicians in Ontario and has a search feature to find a physician or specialist in your area, also gppaonline has a search feature to find general practice psychoanalists in your area - these docs are all covered by OHIP. They will take you seriously! FIXING

Thanks for the replies. I feel a whole lot better today. The symptoms come and go - after the event I tell myself that it must have been anxiety/panic, but at the time - all the negative thoughts start and I am convinced it must be a tumour etc. I appreciate your responses as now I feel like I am not on my own with this one.

Hey Ann! That is my number one complaint right now. I've noticed that with panic, we tend to have one fear, we get over that and then another one pops up. So, for now, this one is mine also. I have noticed that the more I think about it, the worse it gets. If I'm having a good day, it hardly happens. But, when I'm feeling particuarly anxious, even just a little, it starts up and then I start getting panicky and it takes off and gets so much worse! I get dizzy, light headed, pressure in my ears, monster headaches, my eyes hurt, and I get this horrid feeling like my brain flinches. It'll flinch real quick and then go away. Sometimes it will feel like that a few times and then go away, sometimes it's just once. That one is really awful. Do you ever get that? I also have been having a lot of memory problems lately. And things seem unfamiliar sometimes. It makes me feel like it's a tumor or a blood clot or something. I read the other day that any brain diseases are extremely rare and any symptoms you may be having regarding your brain is most commonly caused by stressors in your life. Anxiety / panic and depression are certainly stressors in our lives and I really think this is why we get this. Of course, the panic monster is trying to convince me otherwise, but, keep telling yourself that this is just anxiety / panic and it will go away and it will not harm you. Once you convince yourself that it is nothing harmful, it will start to go away. I'm working on this one, too. You're not alone!

I am really panicking big style at the moment. I keep getting a dull ache in my ears, have really bad headaches, pains in my neck and sometimes feel dizzy or feel as if I am swaying. I am really frightened as I think it might be a brain tumour. I dont know what to do anymore. Do I feel the symptoms because I am dwelling on them more. I go to the doctors and feel like they just 'fob' me off as I suffer from panic/anxiety/stress. What can I do? Does anyone else have these symptoms??? Please, please, please help!
