I'm new here and really need someone to talk to!
About 2 years ago, my hands started to tremor all of the time. I went to the doc and he prescribed me zanax, which seemed to work. He said it was anxiety and should go away on it's own. Well, 2 years later, I'm still having the tremors and now I'm having severe panic attacks. My first one was in March, I thought I was dying. I lost all feeling, trembled from head to toe, felt hot then cold, my heart was racing, my chest hurt, my body felt like it was falling asleep. They again gave me zanax and that helped. Well, I've had a panic attack every day this past week. I had one at work so bad that I had to have my boss call in my prescription and have someone sit with me. It lasted 10 hours. The prescription (ativan) took away the tremors, but I still had all of the symptoms. I hear that most attacks last about 10 minutes. Mine seem to last all day. I went to my doc the next day and he has put me on zoloft and said that I will be on them for a year and if it doesn't help, I will have to see a phsycotherapist. I'm 30 years old and have never had an attack, I don't understand why I'm having them??? Does anyone understand??? I told my boss today I need to go home and he said ok, but I need to nip this in the butt or it will ruin my life. I decided to stay and be strong, but I'm still so afraid I'm going to have another one and I can't control it!!
