Hi! Mya, Well you are not alone! I've been there!!!!!! It can and will get better!!! You are already making the right steps by seeking help and reaching out! That is huge! Way to go! I found that if I focused on one simple thing at a time and tried to make it enjoyable it helped. For example if I fixed a cup of tea, or listened to positive music or did another task. I would remind myself to only focus on what I was doing and try to enjoy the moment instead of worrying about "what if". I use this all the time at work when I catch my negative thinking. I try to stop it and stay in the moment and listen to the person I'm working with or put my focus on my task. I hope this helps in some way! Birdie

Hello Mya, I just wanted to say that I have been in your shoes. I know how horrible this can be. But hang in there. Danielle gave you great advice. I know therapy and this site have really helped me.I know that it does get better. I joined this site because of a relapse. My agoraphobia then was there but not as bad as it had once been. But I remember a time where I could not leave my house at all and that I was afraid to be alone in my house. It was horrible. But I have made tremendous gains. During my relapse, I went out for the bare minimum of things and I was always afraid. I had once again cut out so many things from my life. I was constantly afraid and on high alert. I felt so alone and scared. So I went back to my therapist and I joined this site and It changed my life. I was no longer alone. There were also things I could learn and do to help myself. It was work but it was worth it. Now I go to school and I work. I go out to restaurants and the movies. I can go into grocerie store and supermarket and the mall. I go for long walks all by myself. I take the bus again... All this to say hang in there, It can get better. And remember, this too shall pass! -Diva

Hi Mya, Unfortunately, as I'm sure you know there are no quick fixes. I'm sorry to hear you're having a really rough time at home today. The best advice we can give you is to continue seeking additional assistance outside the site, participating in the forums and keep working the program. Our site is full of proof that this combo works. Just browse through, you'll see many of our members have made tremendous progress. Don't lose faith just yet, it can be done! Hang in there! I am not going to go into my full story..I did post it in the intro section...my agoraphobia has come back after about 4 years..I am terrified when I am home alone...I shake, feel dizzy, light headed and scared im going to pass out..I am constantly checking myself for abnormal feelings and I don't know how to break the cycle...I just started the first session and am going to record my feelings for a week..I get stuck thinking this will never change..I am to scared to try meds( i have a paxil script here) but wont take it. I am waiting to get into counseling....looking for a positive outlook although I must say...today compared to a few weeks ago I am starting to improve slowly...
