Body so Sensitized

Thank you all. I am trying not to dwell on the stomach pain, usually it comes lower today its upper and of course I start thinking "ulcer" but I have had this before and trying to tell myself it will go away. I know the stomach is a very vunerble area for stress, especially with me, I am going to try to eat something and some milk I have not eaten today and that may help.

Sunny I did not know you were sick, I am so sorry, what is wrong? a cold? I will pray for you, thank you for writing me even through you are ill, you have been so good too me I hate to hear you ill. Please let me know how you are, I am concerned.

I just have to remember I have had this lower and upper tummy pain before and it went away if I could just believe that in my mind! I have not seen my Doctor in awhile Davit, its a 2 hour wait for 5 minutes and just the thought sends me into panic! The pain is going away a little I am just tired now from worrying, can you get exhausted from worrying even if you dont have a full blown? I am going to try to get through this today somehow, please let me know how you are Sunny. I remember Davit about 5 or 6 months ago I went to ER with chest pain and all other symptoms, I had all these tests and the ER Doc came in after seven hours and I asked him whats wrong, and he replied "we dont know" very scary and depressing after seven hours of tests, and my primary basically does not understand, I will try to eat to soothe my tummy and write back, reading what you went through Davit and how you survived gives me hope, you really went through hell with this and somehow someway came out the other side, I guess as Sunny Samantha and Hugs said its going to take time!

Hello Debora,

You're fellow members have offered some really great words of advice regarding this topic of conversation. Take what they have said and allow it to help you with your current situation. Continue using the sessions of the program to move forward in your journey.

Deb,
If you mean will your body go back to normal, that will take time.

When your body is under high stress for a long time, it takes times for the body to return because of the adrenalin rush for so  long.  It's like trying to come back to normal after a jet lag experience.

You can see it with people who leave stressful jobs and look younger or lose weight.  Leaving bad situations or correcting them can have the same effects.

Hi Debora.

I'm presuming like sunny that there is no physical reason for the symptoms.

So if she tells you to ignore them and I tell you to ignore them will you? Are they worse than the flu? You could live with that. Catch 22. If you focus on the symptoms the anxiety gets worse and if the anxiety gets worse the symptoms get worse. My God, If I thought about every time my Blood Pressure went up or my chest hurt from my arthritis I'd be in a constant panic state.
S....t happens, let it and ignore it, this is a rule to live buy even if you weren't fighting panic. I mean do what you can for it and wait, it will go away.

What she said in her post is true. What she did not say is that she has been sick for two days and she is not letting it send her into a panic, it will go away. Sick or not she still came here.
Sick or not I still come here and I am what would be called sick a fair bit of the time. I've had staph infection for longer than I've been on this site. I used to have a Picc line in my arm. I had to unhook and set the lap top aside to get in my wheel chair and go to the bathroom. And on antibiotics it was often and some times violent. No way was I going to let that bother me or I would have been back in the hospital where I should have been. No more IV, no more wheel chair, just some days of pain and nausea. The body needs time and sometimes it needs help but what it doesn't need is focus. Let it heal on it's own.
This is presuming your Doctor says there is no cause for concern.
More tough love I know. You can do this.

Davit.

Hi Debora:  The body will heal physically in time.  When you've been ill for awhile it takes time for it to get back to its original strength.  Be patient, be good to yourself.  Pamper, pamper, pamper.  This is the time for it.  As your feelings/emotions of fear and panic subside, your body will be able to start relaxing and healing.  It won't be on high alert all the time.  Keep taking really good care of yourself with good nutrition and daily exercise - those walks are great every day, short or long.  Keep the faith, keep believing, it takes time.  You've already started, you're on your way.

Hello Everyone,

I have a question if you can all help me. Does it take awhile for the body to "desensitize" anotherwords even through I am learning not to fear the panic why are the body symptoms still so severe? I did not sleep well at all last night, I dont think I dozed off till 8:00am this morning, I took my pill, my prayers and tried to sleep, my stomach was doing that burning churning thing again, then I started to have a racing heart with missed heartbeats?! I usually dont have that, at least not lately that kind of went away, now its more stomachaches and headaches, can this ALL be anxiety? I am so afraid I have lived in this abnormal state for SO long by body is just doing these things like its normal, and it scares me, I took a whole klonopin last night and that usually relaxes me so I dont know why all these bad symptoms, its so hard to think positive when you feel so awful, its like constant generalized anxiety, the program will help with that too won't it? not just for panic, which leads to panic with me, I am trying to eat healthy, walk a little I even went grocery shopping last night, and then BOOM in bed it all comes back, is this just sensitized nerves? will these go away? I lost my appetite again with this churning and nausea and I know its all nerves, how long does it take the body to "go back to normal" does that make sense? will the symptoms subside? I am trying very hard not to dwell on them but its hard.
