I Think I am in Trouble

I had bad luck today with the medical community. I posted in another post about trying too see my primary and being told five days, that, I feel is unacceptable, but my insurance co does NOT like when I go to urgent care or ER, they have too pay more, but if you are sick and your Doc is too busy and booked what do you do? Its no wonder are health care is so bad here.

My therapist cancelled today, he called and sad he had the stomach flu and could not make it, I do understand that and I am glad he did not come no one would want to catch that, I appreciate that. But I have not seen him in three weeks due too the holiday, I really needed to see him today I have been so depressed and nervous and needed to talk but he is sick so I do understand. Oh well what can you do?

Yes its been a bad day Vincenzia and I am hoping tommorow will be more productive and I will get some decent medical help.

When my son acts like that I tell him he is being disrespectful and do not talk to his Mother like that, I also asked my husband to watch his words around him, its hard being sick when everyone around you seems mad at you or disgusted. It does not help.

I dont know why I would not let my husband prick my finger, he tests himself all the time, I guess I thought is would hurt or he would do it wrong, maybe I was scared to see the results, I would feel better if a nurse did it, he has trouble taking his at times. I should of let him but he is dozing now and I will let it go till tommorow, hopefully this will be gone, like I said it does not feel like a typical UTI, I heard the body eleminates the water it does not need, that would be a simple comforing explanation.

Carmie I wrote you on another post, I wanted to hear about the 911 call and how you are doing, I have done that too, more than once!

Hi Debora,

Sorry to hear you're having a rough day.  It doesn't help when you family members are not sensitive when you are having a 'blue' day.  (That is when you have us to talk to!)

How do you respond to your son when he is disrespectful?

With regards to testing your blood sugar, what is it that you fear?  What can you say to yourself to overcome this fear? Vincenza, Health Educator

Debora,
I haven't got a chance to read yet but are you familiar with the Questioning Anxious Thoughts form?  It really helped me earlier today when I was very close to an attack.
In a nutshell, you just take a moment to write down exactly what your anxious thoughts are.  Then you make a note of what the evidence is to support that those thoughts might be true and the evidence that those thoughts might not be true.  Then you write down a few alternative thoughts that you could have instead.
Something else that has helped me is to do the box breathing and to listen to my body. Just listen and make observations - but not judgements.  It helps me to breathe and to think about where there is tension in my body and where there isn't and I breath and sometimes just focusing on the relaxed areas, helps to teach the tense areas a lesson, so to speak.
Please post and let us know how you are doing.  Remember that anxiety attacks are no more dangerous to you than the hiccups.  You are a strong and wonderful person and you will be at peace with your body one day soon and I will love to hear about it!

I am having a bad day Jaybee, I posted on another forum. It is bad when the teens are disrespectful, I think most are like that. They pick up on things. I hope you're day gets better, I am fighting off an attack right now, my husband wants to "prick my finger" and test my blood sugar with him moniter, but I am even scared too do that! I have too calm down I cant live like this!

Debora,    I have a teenage daughter and you are so right, kids can pick up that,my daughter says mean things to me also and it is tough to tune out .  You are sounding positive and that is great, that is most important, I had days that i would be so   stressed out that would lead to depression, but thankfully them days are few.  I know we can overcome this!  One day at a time I find is the best way.  jaybe

Hi Jaybe,

Its nice to hear from you. I am sorry about you're husband, believe me I so understand. In fact I am having a problem today and he yelled at me about it, whats really sad is now my teen-age son, who is special-needs has "picked up" on it, he said today "God Mom you are such a hypocrondriac" that really stung and hurt hearing it from my son, but I know he is just imitating his father, hearing it from you're husband is bad enough but too hear it from you're child is painful and it really hits home bad.

Yes Davit is right Jaybe, we have too do it for ourselves, I now leave him out of it as much as I can, he will never understand and never be compassionate, and I have accepted that. that being said he is older now and this is the third time we have gone through this "panic thing" he works hard, has his own health problems and is tired and worn out, so I try not to get depressed about it. You sound good Jaybe, and I am so glad! My hobby is reading too, may we both win this battle and live again.

Debora,   hi  I can empathize with you, I also have a husband who dosen't understand, but Davits' advice is so true.  You need to do CBT for yourself.  It took me a long while to get it.  I keep my husband out anything involved with my panic/anxiety disorder , it is better that way and keeps anxiety level manageable.   jaybe
