Penalized for not using generic Celexa

Hey, I also have to pay a bit more for the regular. However, its only about $20 more which I am more than willing to pay. I am FINALLY completely back to my old self. I can't believe the battle and struggle I had to fight with this because of the stupid generic celexa. It really irks me because I know from the way I was feeling about a month back to now, there is noway anything but the generic caused it. Also, I have found some others in my area who had similar experiences with the generic Celexa. I just wish there was something I could do about it because now that I am back to normal I feel very very cheated and lied to. Anyways, that's about all my gripes for now...gotta get back to work..now that I actually can and feel like it. Becky

Hi Parisongs, Come on up! I'll meet your plane ;p Before you start packing; however, you should know that a similar situation exists here. The $ difference isn't quite as dramatic. Once a generic is approved, insurance companies glom onto it, and don't pay the difference."Effective? what diff does that make; it was approved, wasn't it." I've already registered a complaint this side of the border. I hope someone(s) is doing the same in the US. One problem is that some people (I'm sure you read their comments already) feel there's no difference. If the insurance companies choose to hear ONLY those people, it'll be an uphill battle. Anyway, glad you're back on the name brand. Kate14

Well, now that I've switched back to using regular Celexa and I'm feeling much better, I'm being penalized by my insurance provider for not using the ineffective generic Celexa. Instead of paying a co-pay of $55.00 I am being charged $87.00. I called Medco Health, Blue Cross/Blue Sheild and finally the Employees Retirement System of Texas. ERS stone-walled me and said there was nothing I could do but file a complaint. I told them that they were the biggest god-****ed ****-ups I've ever seen and this was the most oppressive thing they could do to someone suffering from depression. Canada here I come!
