Very good post. Thank you Duffis. I am sure there are a lot of new quitters here today who are confused by todays postings. It can be demorolising so early into your quit. It is demoralising, because you think perhaps EVERYONE slips?.. and I know that if I slip then I will definately be a full time smoker again. I always have before....so is it a case of WHEN will I revert to smoking? Is that what everyone else is doing, just continually quitting - then having sneaky cigarettes on the side? So a thread like this is helpful and much appreciated! Thanks x My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 719 Amount Saved: 210 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 53 Seconds: 46

Duffis, you hit it right on the nail!! Thank you for the enlightenment and the information. I agree with the Fear of Failure and Fear of Success. Didn't know that was possible in the same sentence! Anways, thank you very much Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 844 Amount Saved: $133.65 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 26 Seconds: 7

Thanks. I for one don't need any more ice cream and perhaps it is really time to look the monstr in the eye and for me to remain in the drivers seat! Great post! What an amazing thing to experience the growth of the quit. No longer children that are afraid but adults who hold their heads high and walk through life without the crutch. I believe it is called freedom. Thank you Duffis. Your post is very encouraging. Great post, Duffis. Like Cheermom, I agree with the fear of failure and fear of success concept. OMG, what do I do if I can't quit? (I'll be a failure) OMG, what do I do if I can quit? (I won't be able to smoke ever again) Shot if you don't, shot if you do. So why go into a lose/lose situation? Because it isn't lose/lose. Because the second option isn't losing and is only temporary. That's what many new quitters or want-to-be quitters miss. Duffis why do you even bother. Don't you realize by now that this is not the thing the general membership wants..........they want ice-cream they want every thing under the sun except the pain of quitting smoking. So dear friend just give it a rest and enjoy yourself for a change.
