Yeah i've been smoke free a while now and like everyother night I have a dream about smoking lol... its really annoying actually. But when I wake up I know it was only a dream and that I didnt actually smoke lol I really hope these dreams stop soon though

LMAO I HAVE NOT QUIT YET, BUT IT REMINDS ME OF DREAMS THAT I HAVE THAT ARE SO REAL AND ITS USUALLY BUYING A WHOLE BAGFULL OF YUMMY CRAZY SWEETS/CANDIES CHIPS, THEN WHEN I WAKE UP, I GO NUTZ LOOKING FOR IT. I DONT NKOW IF I WOULD REACT THE SAME WAY WITH CIGGY DREAMS... I DO IT NOW CAUSE IM BORED AND OUT OF HABIT... AND IT SEEMS THAT I ONLY CRAVE IT WHEN IM BORED!

I'm not using any NRT, and I still have smoking dreams. Usually the dream is pretty much the same: I smoke one cig a day, but tell it's still okay to say I quit smoking, even though I have that one cig every day. At first I would wake up and be relieved it was a dream, and now I think I know it's a dream. I just have my one cig in my dream, knowing I'm not really smoking and I have quit. Once in a while, I'll have to think about it a minute in the morning, but not very often. The dreams don't bother me. Better to have the one cig in my dreams than in reality. Tryagain, We suggest you decide on a nicotine gum use goal and stick to it. It may be helpful to keep your use of NRT at a consistent level. There may be an adjustment period but it will pass. After your body adjusts, you can try lowering your use or going nicotine free. With regards to the smoking dreams, it may be helpful to you to try to limit your use of the gum in the evenings as this may contribute to their frequency. If they are still interrupting your sleep, take a nap. In the days to come, don't forget to reward yourself for all your hard work and keep those coping strategies and distractions close. Yes, I stepped down,and have been trying to use less. I wait until the craving is making me claw the walls first. Which still leaves way too much for me to be comfortable with. I don't know what else to do. I hate smoking dreams because I invariably wake up with the worst cravings in the world. It's like I just quit. The 80 some odd days of cig free are gone. It's like I quit yesterday. Not only that, but all the other withdrawal symptoms are back too!!!! I'm a couple of weeks from 100 days and I've heard around that time it gets worse. If it gets much worse than this, I will have to start clawing walls. Hi there I personally HATE the smoking dreams - I wake up really upset that I've started smoking again and am so releived that I haven't - I suppose that's a good sign though, that I really don't want to smoke. I may be nuts, but I enjoy the smoking dreams. In fact, I enjoy all of the weird and wacky dreams. I haven't had a smoking one lately, but if I have another I will enjoy it. Does that sound crazy to everyone else? If I am smoking in my dream, it's not in my lungs, my quit is intact, and I wake up glad it was a dream, but with a renewed appreciation for my quit, and a vow of NOPE.
