I have been reading your stuff and have really enjoyed hearing about your progress. I am also glad that you had a good day! I love your little anecdote about your son and him seeing a "sting ray". Kids do say the darnest things! They really do bring laughter to our lives, if we let them.

Something I have been struggling with the past few weeks has been the weather. I feel like a serious case of the winter blues has settled in and it has made it really hard for me to focus on the sessions and my homework. I have been working lots and on my off-time spending it with my kids and glued to the tv (the olympics are so exciting)! Having said that, I have been challenging lots of negative thinking by making plans for the next few months when the weather gets nicer. Having plans for the next few months makes me feel excited and allows me to ward off the negative thinking.

I have to admit that problem solving is a huge part of my occupation and I do this on a daily basis. My challenge here is to apply these same tactics to my everyday life and my depression. Attacking problems that I face at home or with my family with an approach. Breaking things down into smaller steps and going for it. Making a plan is always more effective than free-styling it!

Welcome to the site, I am glad that your friend directed you here! I have been a member for a few good months now; sometimes I'm more active than others. Work can get pretty busy at times.
