Between the age 13-15 I had obsessive habits like your rst such as having to do up lids on jars again, turn taps off again etc.. That was 13 years ago and all I remember is that they just went. I never went to a doc or anyone, they just went. And Iwona I also have what u have with the obsessivnes about illness and the panic from them. But it's gradually getting better. Nothing lasts forever!!

doing well then another attack

Sts you are obviously going through a down time. But trust me u will bounce back up. Panic disorder is like a rollercoaster until one day it will flatten out. Remember panic attacks are 100% harmlous. U'll be right in the long run! Try your best to be positive and patient. CYA

Will this illness ever end.........

Toni, never think that they won't end. You must have read about others getting over their disorders. If others have got over their panic disorders then so can u. Having down patches is all part of the path to recovery.

rst, I don't recall doing anything in particular for my habits to go. I think I just got to a stage where you get sick of doing them and I stopped doing them. I'm 26 now so it was a while ago, but I asked my Mum and she also says that they basically just went with time. I just grew out of them. You obviously have what I had and so I'm guessing yours will go in time aswell.

Hypochondriacism

Howdy Melisa, head up girl!! I know what u r going through, I've been there myself. In the past I've had 15,000 strokes, 3,000 heart attacks, 7,000 different cases of throat cancer and about 18,540 stomach cancers. Whilst I still get these silly thoughts, I don't get them like I used to. I remember back at the start I would have say a brain tumor and that would get me all freaked out and so I would spend the next several hours in bed. Those were the days!! So if I can learn to deal with them better so can u. Ciao!!

Hi, it has been great to discover this site as you really do feel alone when you are going through panick feelings. My two sisters and mother suffer from panick attacks, but they are not very supportive because all they want from me is to be my 'former self' again and they just have the attitude get on with it and dont think about it. I am a singer and usually very outgoing and I suppose used to have the world at my feet before this thing hit me. Mine started as a thyroid desease which now has normalised, but unfortunetely my fear of the unreal feeling has become a battle to deal with. I thought I was going mad and had trouble handling that. But now, the more knowledge I obtain the more I feel I can beat it. You are not alone as I am discovering, there are more of us out there than I ever expected.Text

Fear of going crazy!

hi, I just joined and it puts my mind so much at ease to know that there are other people that have gone through what I have. The only thing that has kept me in my panick attacks is the fear of going crazy or schitzo, I dont have any other major fears, but I started to question everything I said and did because I was scared of losing my mind. I wondered if other people could see this or think that when I did something or said something. Hence my pancik attacks remained. I hate the dissociation or unreal feeling and I usually feel it worse when I go to bed because I am tired. I am learning now not to fear this sensation and I have to do a lot self talk and tell myself that I cant go crazy and I am not losing it, this isnt the final end every time I have an attack like this. I am not affraid of any other symptoms of panick, most of my attacks which involve the racing heart and electrical rushing go as soon as they come, but this unreal feeling seems to knock me off balance everytime. Does anyone else feel this way.?

blood pressure and panic

All is cool! I once read a book (can't recall title) which eased my mind about this topic. I made notes. The book said: The physical symptoms are not directly damaging to your health. This is an important part to grasp as one of the greatest fears for panic sufferers is that the attacks themselves are doing them harm.

Fear of going crazy!

Howdy Shellbell, fear of going crazy or losing your mind is one of the more common fears. I used to fear that big time. In fact my second day produced one of my biggest ever attacks when I began to think "am I / what if I go crazy?" As u said it's not possible to lose your mind or go crazy because of panic disorder. Those illnesses are another kettle of fish. Adios!

Hi, From a Newbie.

Howdy Court, yeah I'm one who has been obseesed with my health like worrying when someone bleeds on my sporting field or with sharing drink bottles because of germs. I'm not as bad as I used to be, but it's still a good idea to be catious (without being OVER cautious) SO yeah you're not the only one and in time I'm sure u will become less worried with such things. Ciao!
