Why is Journaling so difficult !!?

for 20 år siden 0 70 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
hi, Ive been keeping my thoughts down in a journal and i find that the best thing to do is carry it everywhere with you, when you have something on your mind right it down. My therapist told me that it doesnt matter if it makes sense or not all that matters is that all the negative feelings you have inside are out of your mind and on paper and what you need to do is forget them when theyre on paper. Everything follows a pattern and as long as you feel better after writing thoughts and feelings down thats all the matters. Your therapist or who ever will be able to decipher them, just be honest and truthfull and it will get better and easier. Starr

KittyKat, Getting the energy to sit and actually write down your thoughts each day can be time consuming and can make it feel like a chore. Keeping a journal however, is an important aspect of your recovery/therapy. It allows you and your therapist to really pinpoint what your triggers and moods are over a period of days or months. I wonder if that is why writers take so long to finish a novel....it can be a full time job! (and usually is) Find a time that is best for you each day if there is nothing pressing that you should be writing, give yourself options, morning or in the evening, do not be regimented, because when you are more in control of the task, it tends to be more enjoyable, and easier to put down onto paper. I hope this helps, Angela __________________________________ The Depression Support Center Team

I have a pretty hard time keeping my journal going. Some days I feel just to depressed to pick up a pen and write anything. So my journal is a bit spotty at the moment. I guess the days I feel ok is when I put the thing away and try to forget it all. If anyone else has any tips on how to keep journaling, please share!

Takes me two hours to decompress from the rough mornings. Then I am supposed to write each day about all this (i'll call it stuff cause i still don't like details) in a daily journal. I understand why she wants me to write it out each day. Problem is it is difficult to concentrate and just write it out in an understandable way. Which makes me want to throw it across the room and give up. Anyone else writing a daily journal and possibly having/had the same trouble getting started? -tig
