smoking marijuana

Thanks Josie, He's under the care of a Psychiatrist right now, but it's getting nowhere. He was committed against his will and he's still pretty angry about it -two weeks later. He's taking the meds, but only in order to get released. He still doesn't believe he has a problem (suicidal) and is therefore resistant to any other treatment. I don't think the doctors are going to be able to do much to help him feel better nor are they going to be able to do much about his use of marijuana. I'm feeling very hopeless right now. He's filed an appeal to get himself out of hospital. I think it may work.

Sinking, Our medical advisor indicates that the use of marijuana in depression and anxiety doesn't help and often makes things worse. The only things it may help with are decreasing chronic physical pain and increasing appetite for people who do not have an appetite due to a medical condition or radiation or chemotherapy. Most professionals would advise against using drugs or alcohol to manage the symptoms of depression. We would suggest that he continue under the care of his doctor and/or therapist. Hope this helps, Josie ____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team.

Thanks Josie, The police and doctors are aware of his use. He's in the hospital right now so he's not using. I'm pretty sure he plans on smoking as soon as he's out. oy I would appreciate any information that you can find on the subject. thanks

Sinking, Please keep in mind that marijuana does alter one's state of mind. We do not condone this type of behaviour or support it. You may want to discuss this with a therapist or doctor. I will further research this topic and reply with some more information for you. Josie ___________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team.

I take 150 effexorand my dr. would like me to be taking 300mg&150 of wellbutrine a day but I can't efford it,I just recently found a pt. job, working has always helped me as for looking for work is the killer,so instead of all the meds I should be taking I go to work with all of my symptoms of depression, back ache, IBS,achey mussels, fear, all of it and I tell myself I will be ok. I am 42 and was diagnioused when I was 30 after being hospitalized by my parents and my Dr. of 20yrs. When I smoke marijuana I get motivated to do housework, it helps me eat and sleep as well but it makes me depressed and I think I need to stop but don"t know how, my life has been one struggle after another, depression runs strongley on my fathers side whom I don't even know!so many different issues, things to think about and do ,I don't think it will ever be normal because I am not, how do you fit in a world when you can't trust anyone really, anyway I hope for some fed back, thankyou.

150 mg of what? i wonder about clinical depression and marijuana....my boyfriend smokes a doob or two (sometimes more) everyday and has clinical depression. he's been going through a major depressive episode and his marijuana use has increased a lot. is this making things worse? i know he usually seems somewhat "less down" when he's stoned...but i've been told it has depressive qualities. i'm sure it numbs the pain he's feeling....but does it make things worse? i'd be interested in hearing other people's opinions and reactions.
