Hi Liz, Congratulations on your 3 days now of choosing freedom. You have chosen to quit. Remember when you were smoking, all you wanted was to quit? Well, now you HAVE! Hold on to that when you are craving, and put some other activity in it's place. I particularly like cleaning closets and rearranging furniture (there is something positive to be said for an acutal, physical new point of view) but hubby has limited me to once per week in the bedroom... LOL
I am usually on the IM late at night, after midnight in California, but have been on vacation, down with the flu, and occupied with a new puppy, so!
But there is usually at least one person online, if you need some help, by all means, post a thread, whom ever is there will try to help out as best they can.
Not thinking clearly and angry/tearful/irritated for the first week (which we all call Hell week) is absolutely normal, right where you should be. Do please breathe, and know, truly know that it does get better. It takes time and determination, but it does get better.
I hear you saying that you have quit before, but listen, you don't have to do this ever again if you continue to choose freedom. Read some of the long timers threads, they will tell you it's all worth it. And I can tell you that at 46 + days, I go many hours without thinking of smoking, and I've smoked 1.5 packs a day for 40+ years. I didn't go an hour without feeding my addiction. I can only assume that it will get longer and longer between the thoughts - craves - triggers. It will for you, too, I promise.
