Bobbi, I'm glad you're feeling a little better. I think you're doing great!Hubby and I are using Chantix and it has worked well for us so far. Hubby has had some problems with nausea, but he is dealing with it. We're having a blast in Vegas and we haven't lost too much money so far :). There sure are a lot of people who smoke here and now that I can smell, boy does it STINK! I'll try to pop in for the Luau tomorrow. Bobbi,That happened to me last week too. Sometimes it just feels better to come here and talk to someone. Getting the blues here & there is all part of quitting. Lots of members have had it hit around anniversaries and I see you're at 60 days... Practice the deep breathing, the walking does help, as does watching a funny movie, or just talking with a good friend! It will pass, You will have a better day! There is no going back, Smoking won't help. you know that! SO Keep trying to find things that do work. Hang in there, it will get better! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,125 Amount Saved: $896.75 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 8 Mins: 53 Seconds: 48

Just hang in there Bobbi. I'm praying for you and I know you'll make it through this rough patch. Hubby and I are leaving for Vegas in the morning, but he is taking his laptop, so I'll be checking in to see how you're doing. Bobbi, you are not rambling & you have nothing to apologize for. One thing you could try & it might be hard, is to not blame yourself for not feeling the way you think you should feel. Don't "should" all over yourself. You feel the way you feel & its' not right or wrong or good or bad, it's the way you feel. Right now you feel crappy, sad & overly sensitive. You don't have to also feel disappointed with yourself, all those things are OK to feel. I might not be saying it right, I hope you see what I mean. It helps men to think that way & maybe it will help you, too. ((((Bobbi)))). Boxerfan, Oh how I thank you for your post,I went for a very long walk last night and again this eve. and oh the water so full of it could bend over and it would run out of my ears and nose, lol I am trying so hard to feel good, have worked on thinking good thoughts all the perks of not smoking and there are soooo many, for the past couple days have been so out of it and down, not mean just more sad, think it is getting to my husband, he has been so good, wonderful as a matter of fact but I do think he is feeling left out, haven't been the loving person I usually am, oh this is so hard feel like I could start crying and never stop, but I don't do things like thast because I feel this is silly, should not be so unhappy, should be shouting to the stars I am a nonsmoker,I am a person who does not like to be a poor pitty me, have always been very strong, so this is very upsetting. couldn't sleep last night was up at 2:00 am excerising, am trying to do all the things I have read on the posts, but for some reason doesn't seem to work very well at this time. You and unhooked have been such great friends and such support, I thank God for sending you both to me! well sorry I have rambled on so bad. Thanks for listening! hugs and prayers Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,860 Amount Saved: $155.00 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 4 Mins: 56 Seconds: 20

Bobbi, I wanted to respond to some of your questions from another thread. I also have hit a few bumps in the road, but I keep reminding myself how much better I feel. I remind myself of how unpleasant those first few days of the quit were and I how I don't want to ever have to do that again. My poor students at school had to put up with me being a little short tempered for a while, but we all survived. Just try to remember that the tough times will pass....so don't give up. I also think this is a journey that is different for each individual. For me, it has kind of been like the process of grieving that people go through when they lose a loved one. I have especially noticed that since I started exercising (walking 20-30 minutes per day), I am even feeling better. I've heard lots of people here recommend this, but now I am experiencing it. Hubby and I are both using Chantix and it is working well for us. My husband has had a couple of slips, but he decided the other night to throw the pack away (I was very proud of him). He said that smoking while on the Chantix was not pleasant. I still cry, too sometimes Bobbi. I cried last night while I was reading the novel Because of Winn Dixie. I kind of related the story to smoking. The little girl in the story was very sad because her mother had abandoned her when she was very young. The little girl spent much of her time thinking about this void in her life. By the end of the story, the void was filled and her heart was filled by new friends and relationships. I think of smoking in this way. It filled a void and at times, I think I miss it. But I'm realizing now, not smoking allows me to experience so many other things that are much more worthwhile. It was a heartwarming and pleasant read that I'd recommend if you haven't read it. Bobbi, just keep on doing what you're doing. It will get better, I promise. You just come here anytime, you know you have a team cheering you on. Bobbi, You doing great and this is normal. Take the time to discuss this with your doctor and pharmacist to come up with a plan that is right for you. Your body is healing and may need some time. Use those coping mechanisms and please take some you time to re-focus and pamper yourself :) Josie, Support Specialist
