Hey, everybody! Nice to see the bistro open. Can I get a margarita, too, please? Ima, OK if I sit with you?
I just met some friends of the new bf, first time for that kind of thing. I wasn't nervous but he was, so of course that made me second guess & I had to tell the junkie to get lost a couple of times in the car.
There were some people who smoked there & they had a firepit in the backyard. Sitting with a beer and a smoke around the fire has always been one of my favourite ways to relax and I have to admit, when I first saw the firepit, the junkie laughed at me & started to celebrate. She didn't think there was any way I'd get through that, combined with the whole new people, bf's friends thing.
You know, I didn't even want one. I felt a bit sorry for the smokers (4 out of 18 people) & I was a little disgusted at the smell. That junkie just turned tail & slunk right out of that party because she knew she wasn't welcome & didn't belong.
I know there are some people struggling with difficult situations right now & this little incident doesn't compare. It's a small victory though & a reminder that they add up, it can be done & we're all doing it.
We are all non-smokers, we are all strong, brave, determined people with big hearts & huge love. We are all doing this!!
